New ride! and first race

Hi all, Just today traded my E63 which I have loved for the past 3 years for a new sliver 09 SL63. Picked it up in Columbus OH (found a great deal) and when driving back to Nashville came across a heavily moded CTS-V. We pulled next to each other going about 60 and gunned it. It basically was neck and neck up to 120 then he missed a shift and I pulled away to about 140 then shut it down as the V1 started to chirp.
Pulled off the highway at the next exit and chatted for a bit. He had a supercharger and intake and exhaust mods putting him at 460 hp at the wheels. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to keep up.

Loving the new car.

Mike

Well done! But the car (being stock) would have called it all off at 155.

Have fun and be safe!

He didnt win because (according to him) he missed 5th gear. But he was not really pulling on me at all even before that.
Like I said I was shocked too. He popped the hood and clearly had a lot of work done, so I believe him.
Anyway, just wanted to share

Enjoy the SL!

And if you ever get the urge to make your car much faster than a stock CTSV, there are some folks here (including Dino) who can help make that happen.

How were you driving an E63 for 3 years? It came out in 2007. Did you mean 2 years?

07 E63 actually became available the summer of 06 which is when I got mine, so yes it was actually a little under 3 years.

Absolutely loving the SL btw...

I'm sure there are some things that can be done... I know over on the E55/63 forum there are a number of tuners working on the 6.3 engine and have made some good gains...

We do have a nice set up for the 63 engines. While it is not as dramatic feeling as the forced induction cars, it is healthy gain in performance and drivability...... and we also get rid of that pesky speed limiter!
