SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55 Wheel offset - Help
I'm concerned if it will fit the SL55 because of its big brake kit (stock)
they're iforged essens, special ordered for a SL500. anyone know if they will fit my SL55?
TIA

If you're looking for advice, I'd suggest doing a trial mount before buying the wheels. If they don't fit, it will be pretty obvious.
But to answer your question, OEM offsets for an 18" SL55 wheel are in the low 30s.
Good luck!
ET22 might work. You are only losing 8mm which is about 1/3 of an inch. If it doesn't work you can roll the fenders to pick up some additional clearance.
ET50 would definitely rub on the inside of the wheel well, but it would also rub on an SL500. Maybe he's using a spacer to reduce the effective offset? A 15mm spacer on an ET50 offset would effectively become an ET35 offset.
Spokes are still the unknown variable.
that's odd, even if the brake kit comes in the way is there anyway I can get around it?
what's really confusing me is that he got the wheels custom made for his SL500 directly from iforged

The 19 inch AMG SL wheel (CLS as well) is an ET 25 and 28.
Hope that helps.
So yes the AMG wheels from the SL500 are the same as the wheels for the SL55. They did have a different paint color however. The AMG car had a satin finish as they called it which is more shinny while the SL500 sport had a more standard mercedes Silver finish. The Early SL500 sport cars had a polished lip as well.
the offsets were wrong as he got them from discount tire who I believe just guessed on the number
we test out the wheels today, there was barely any space between the rear brake caliper and the rim, about 1-2mm ! but luckily it still fits.. I was worried that the front calipers were going to be a problem since the brakes were bigger, but it fit perfect! and there was more room between the rim/brakes than the rear
Hopefully the rear one doesn't become a problem, its so close to the rim
The wheels shouldn't flex enough under normal use to make the narrow caliper clearance a problem but if it was me, I'd probably check every now and then just to make sure everything stayed where it was supposed to.
