Hello everybody, I'm just taking a survey here of which SL looks and performance are better for every individual users and also commentators.

(OLD pre-facelift SL350, SL500, SL 55 AMG, SL600 and SL65) vs (NEW facelift SL280, SL350, SL550, SL63 AMG, SL 600 and SL65 AMG).

This survey will be posted in a magazine article next month. I will total up the numbers in 2 weeks time after posting this thread. New SL all the way. Its much more complete now especially the SL63 compared to the SL55.

03 / 08 model all the way ...... the circle lights and cuts down the hood resemble old/new modern technology.

Sorry about the fonts everybody, I did the bigger fonts to help the mobile and PDA users to see easily. I represent AUTOBILD from Indonesia. Personal comments from the MB enthusiast is what we need rather than we did a random survey from an unknown source. I will be posting pictures and links to the magazine when the article is posted. I think the newer SL63 is a badboy whereas the pre-facelift was more of a softer look.

I like the look of the old front and the rear of the new. I would have combined them together, that would have been a killer look to me.

I like the new but drive the old and I'm freaking happy!!! The old car has lower compression so that evil scream isn't there like the new car which i like most, and that new tranny is the sh*t.

The "old" SL (2003-2008) will never grow old, its timeless beauty is a work of art that will last forever.

new all the way EXCEPT, pound for pound, i would take the old 55k engine over the new 63 Engine.

Owning the old SL might make me biased toward it, but I think it is timeless and a classic beauty. You gotta love the 55 kompressor even with all it's issues like weak IC pump and chirpy SC clutch. Keep in mind, I have not driven the 63.

If we're talking exterior styling only, it's the 03-08 design by a mile. New front end just looks terrible IMHO.
