03 sl55 keyless go or pano roof

If you were looking at two identical cars, but one has keyless go and the other pano, same prices, which do you think would have the advantage, never had either and trying to decide.

Again, Keyless Go. After having it in 3 of my cars, it gets annoying (almost) having to use the key in the SL.

Keyless Go, I cannot express how practical that feature is.

Pano, I hate being shut in a car with no sunlight from top.. I prefer turning on my car manually and enjoy the pleasure of starting it every morning myself

I don't have either on my SL55...purposely found/picked one with the fewest options; like to keep the car as simple and straight forward as possible with less systems to go wrong, reduce complications and keep it to the basics. I had keyless go in my sl500, I liked it, didn't care for parktronic, distronic etc...etc...more bells and whistles stuff to risk going wrong. One thing I did find out is that these cars tend to get stuck in park sometimes and if that happens on a keyless go car it's much more of an extensive job than a non-keyless go car. Plus I like that the non keyless go cars have the new style keys to use. Pano is nice but I've been told the slider tends to break after sometime on mid-mileage cars; and that the car interior can get very hot in summer months; I love the way pano looks from the outside though!

All this said, I'd personally opt for neither; simple is best for me at least...

pano is rare; go for that - keyless go is common and when they go bad they cost $$$

or better yet get one without all the bells and whistles!!! keep it simple and stick with a solid car and strong motor!

I really dislike the how much noise the pano roof makes when closed compared to a non-pano version. I say get the keyless go.

what kinda noises does it make? squeeking? I don't have one, just wondering...I think it's also heavier than the non-pano...

but it looks OOOhhh so good from the outside!!! Especially on lighter colored cars...like white, silver, or iridium

It's not really a squeak but more of a creaking sound. Lubing the weather stripping with silicone spray helps alot but never makes it as quiet as a non-pano roof and the noises come back to their old levels within weeks (the lube does not make the noises go away, just lessens them). The noise bothers me so bad that I won't drive the SL55 if it's not top down weather. I don't really like to drive any convertibles with the top up but the SL65 and my dad's SL500 both are non-pano and very nice with the top up (a little tin can-ish but only ever so slight and very tolerable).

i must be an outlayer!

ok i think i have the answer.
my sl55 had a panoramic roof and no keyless go.
my sl63 has both the keyless go and the panoramic top.
first of all, the panoramic top makes no noise or squeak going up or down (unless there is a defect in the mechanism).
the absence of keyless go will not be missed unless you have had it before and are conditioned to it. it is much like having a bluetooth phone connection, or perhaps power windows: if you never had these options you really don't miss them. these electronic features ARE great and seem to become necessities once you become used to them.
if you have never had keyless go, i would vote for the panoramic top, as i think this a more unique option!

What noise, my SL63 is quieter than my SL55 that had metal roof.
As for keyless, wait till you lose the key, trapped down or under the seat,
you won't be able to leave it anywhere. I had keyless on my CL ,SL and on
my S600. Never used them. The Pano however lets light in on a dull day, and
from outside looks really cool. Pano every time!!
