I assume that if there is a CL65 there will be a SL65. Is it really necessary? I guess none of these cars are really necessary but sure are alot of fun.

The Horsepower war will end when there is no more gas or when gas is $10 per gallon after the Iraq war when Saddam sets his oil wells on fire, another US terrorist attack and the US destabilizes the entire middle east region. This may be the end of the Gas Powered engine as we know it. Sorry about the doom's day forecast - I am just worried.

The technology exists to make a low emission, low gas consuming vehicle. The oil manufacturers are going to ensure it does not go into full-production for a long, long time.
The same holds true for holistic medicine. The insurance companies, and the pharmaceutical companies discredit holistic medicine because they would stand to lose billions of dollars if holistic medicine was widely used, and accepted.
Don't fool yourselves. Government is about money; and here you thought your vote meant something.. lol..

Actually, this is a brilliant strategy. Just as the same basic engine is used for the 500s and the 55 AMGs, why not use the 6.0 L engine to form the basis of a 65 AMG? After all, MB has already made the investment in the turbocharged V12 technology, why not make a tuned version of the engine? You know that Renntech or Brabus is going to do it, so why should MB/AMG pass on the margin improvements that come with the sale of AMG vehicles? There will be buyers for sure, maybe not as many as for the 55s, but definitely more than enough to justify the cost of developing the 65.

As far as performance is concerned, with regards to the standard SL55 AMG, the 0-60 sprint with 500BHP is around 4.3-4.5, now the V12 may weigh more, but with estimated 620HP, even more! And thE fact that AMG will use lighter components hopefully, and with 1000NM if torque, I wouldn't be surprised if the SL65 did 0-60 in 3.9 or less.
Don't forget its extra displacement means more torque, and with the two KKK turbochargers which can be tuned to give more boost, you have all that torque arriving at around1800RPM, onwards (with regards to the current Maybach V12/S600 V12)
ALL in all, I think I can safely say...
This is one BAAAAD MAAAMMAAA JAAAMMMAAAA!!!!!!!!!
