Facelift SL55 to New SL63

Can the front of a SL55 be facelifted to the new SL63 by changing the hood, fenders, headlights, bumper and all other hardwares?

Searched the forum but found no postings.

From what I heard and read on the FORUM it can be done and it is a easy bolt on swap.

I will try to find it again on here and let you know where it is.

With enough $$$ I guess anything is possible.

Why turn a car into something it isn't???

SL55 is already a stunning car with its own rights. If you like the look of the new SL63, then what about the rear of the car? Are you gonna change out all the badges too? What about the engine, wheels and etc.?

After all it's your hard earned $$, so it's your call.....

But then if $$ is not so hard earned, then why not just get the REAL SL63 instead of turning that SL55 into a "SL-Frankenstein"??

I think after spending so much money on an SL55 and liking the new Sl63 front end, why not do a swap. I think it would be interesting and a fun project, plus it would be something that would be different not same old beautiful original front end. heheheh

I SAY DO IT, IF YOU DO IT I'LL DO IT

Why stop at the SL63? What about an SL65 Black Series?

I have a 2003 SL55 and wondered if you could easily convert to SL65 Black Series. I like the wide-body look, but would leave out the fugly rear wing.

Thanks everyone,

Wasn't too willing to sell the car at so low price now as I still considered it as a superb car in terms of performance and luxury. The front of the new SL really attracted me and it just pop out of my head if I can do a facelift.

I wouldn't change badges, the facelifted version is already good to me.

Yeah, the SL65 Black Series is truly stunning. I am sure one day this kit will come out in my country as there are so many MB copy parts of decent quality now available. Recently the CLK DTM body kit is out for about USD10k.

Thanks

The swap to sl65 BS can be done. The body styling, that is. Check out Guckel.de or Goeckel.de
Good luck !

SL55 Conversion to SL63

Hi,

I have a 2006 SL55 with the 030 package.

I converted it to the 2010 SL63 look. Every panel on the outside is a Factory MB part.

I can do it for $17K if interested.

Yes. There are many companies that do the R230 SL63 conversion.

1. Carlsson

2. Inden Design

3. Kicherer
