The satisfaction of an SL...

A great day of weather in Florida, Sunday football, and a clean SL65. I decided to drive to Tampa proper to catch the Steeler game at my sister's house...wife was studying and my daughter was at my in-laws...

It was just me and Manny (my 7 month chocolate lab), so I rolled out the SL65 and powered my convertible to open...sun was shining and my lab by my side...that dog sticking their head out the window and getting blasting by oncoming wind must be genetic...cause Manny was in the zone with his gums flapping in the wind...

The shades on, Manny as my co-pilot, and the rumble of the V12TT...it was as perfect as any ride I've ever taken in any car...SLR230 FTW!!!

PS Does every JDM car or Mustang on the road have to do a ricer flyby when they see my car? I mean I'm doing 80mph and they gun it past me like they just robbed a bank...then slow down for me to catch up...they don't recognize a guy just enjoying nice Sunday afternoon drive? Anyway...I think Manny wanted me to go WOT but cooler heads prevailed.

I was walking my Greys today in the beautiful autumn weather and thinking, “I wonder how Manny is doing.” It looks like he is doing good and riding in style.

Yup...I had a nice celebratory Rocky Patel Decade cigar on the way home...I wish I could teach Manny how to smoke a cigar...I think I could get him used to a good scotch though...

WOOF!

No way in hell I'd let my dog in my SL though. Those nails could seriously efff up your leather.

Ahh...I knew someone would say that...I just laid out some thick towels on the front passenger for Manny to sit on...no harm done. He really doesn't paw anything while in the car...I was more worried about his drool...

It was an amazing day in SW FL yesterday!!! I had the top down on the 55, but since my 2 greys fight over the car rides - they only go in the wife's X5. They are just too damn big to put both in the front seat of the SL. My last grey LOVED the CLK55 - she would just get herself positioned just right in the "backseat" and stick her head into the wind!

Good luck with the scotch...

Gr8 thread bro! Manny & Scotch brings memories of my past Great Dane Atlas, he was the coolest ladies would follow us anywhere

Me & my bros would be drinking on a Sun afternoon watchin' football & their Atlas would stare /drool @ my beer, so I decided WTH he weighed 195 lbs what could be the harm in a lil' beer for my #1 pal, I pour a few sips worth in a lil' dish for him he quickly devours it only to be right back staring @ me for more.

My friends & I take notice & instantly love him more, completely 1 of the guys! I give him a lil' more, then after giving him about an entire beers worth he leaves the living roomcomes directly back from master bedroom w/his fav puffy blankie in tow, to our surprise he procedes to hump his blankie like MC Hammer in front of the big screen then promptly passes out on it!!!

Me & the guys are in shock he's fine sleeping/snoring like a bear, we just bust out laughing are asses off! Atlas my BOY!!! he did this blanket routine many more Sundays, anytime beer was around he wanted a cold one & lived to a ripe ole age of 11 1/2 best dog ever...

Not a day goes by since his passing in Nov 07' that I don't miss that bugger...

My wife and I haul up to three Greyhounds (X-racers) at a time in our ML. Never a problem with sharp nails and the leather interior even after a nail trim which makes for some seriously sharp nails. Slobber on the other hand, is a problem both inside and out. I once had a guy catch up to me at a light and complain that my dogs had gotten slobber all over his windshield. All I could do was apologize. I guess I didn’t realize how prolific the slobber production could be from three skinny snouts sticking out the window.

We have three beagle which love to ride, but I never let ride in the SL. We bought a Honda Element that we use to take them to the lake, or just cruise around in.

Well one day my girl hears me coming and mets me at the door in the garage. The dogs are playing, but before I can close the car door Peanut jumps in the car.

I try to get her out but she refuses. I just admit defeat and back the car out the garage to the end of the drive. Then back in the garage I open my door and she pops out.

We laugh because I said she telling the other dogs she rode in the SL.

It's been a while my dog has been in my car, but everytime he is, my car would turn more heads than any exotic

I understand what you mean by ricer fly by's, I get that all the time too.. if I'm the only one driving I'll always be up to teach someone a lesson tho

The SL and E both have tinted headlight film on them...the multicolor tinge is something I don't really know how to explain and is similar to the multicolor effect when you blow bubbles with soap and the bubble tool when you were a kid...refraction of light?

so that just occurs from the tint you have on them right?

And also what % do you have?

Man's best friend and man's favorite toys. There is nothing quite like it.

My newfies loved the car. There is no better chick magnet than a convertible Ferrari with a big 'ol Newf in the back!
