IC Pump?
I have read so much about IC pumps failing through the years that I have been waiting for it to happen to my '03 25,000 miles SL55, and maybe it has.
After a 5 mile trip down the freeway in 30 degree weather I tried to (very) quickly accelerate from around 50 MPH. It felt like the car died, which it did not, and I coasted to a stoplight. When leaving the light it felt like the car was in some sort of "limp home" mode. I shut the car down, waited about 5 minutes, re-started the car and everything was back to normal.
Does this sound like an IC pump beginning to fail or something else?
Thanks.

Get the OEM one. The CM30 others use IMHO is not as good as the current MB one.
They have worked out all the kinks over the years on the OEM one. I think it's on it's 6th version.

I thought IC pump issues typically presented themselves when the outside temperature is high. The OP said the temperature was 30 (Fahrenheit, I assume). Anyone care to enlighten me?

outside temps only play a small part. if the pump doesnt circulate the fluid it heats up rapidly and the iat's raise to a point the ecu shuts down the s/c to protect it. run your car in cold weather and grap the s/c still hot!!

Thanks for all of the replies. The outside temperature was 30 degrees F, which made me wonder also, but it sounds like that might not make much difference.

If 320 dreamer is correct, your loss of power should be highly reproducible, even in cold weather, because you have a broken IC pump and your supercharger shuts down. Does it happen every time you drive it the way you did that day? Maybe you need a few more data points.

I agree - I'll take it out this weekend and see what happens. I'm probably going to replace it regardless since it appears to just be a matter of time before it fails.

I think the newest OEM factory pump is reliable as opposed to the older ones. I feel the CM30 has a harder time keeping the flow rate up as the coolant reaches operating temps and above.
I have the new OEM pump in my SL55 and I have the fastest 1/4 mile record for a 100% stock SL55 so you know it's workin!
