yep, I going to make my maiden run vs a Police car on 6/2/10 Wednesday. The local drag strip is having an event where you can run your car vs a local police car. It will be cool to see what a bone stock SL55 can do to a police cruiser. If I can get video I will. I dont even know what kind of Police car it is, Crown Vic, Charger? Without looking at what those Police cars are packing, I think I should win though

I'm thinking about it... I've been noticing with some of my other R&D projects; if i take on to many ideas none of them end up getting done the way i want them.

When i stated making headers it was easy, because it was all I was doing. Now that Im in deeper water with 5 totally new projects. Im trying to find a way to juggle them all. I'll track down a SL63 hood and toss that in the mix.. 6 is a nice even number.

Strangely though... A while back I offered to cover all R&D cost for SL63 Long tube headers. I couldn't get any bites. I chalk that one up to logistics though. If there is a market I'll make it.

I don't give a rats *** what kind of cop car you're racing, you're gonna destroy it.

Your stock SL55 should run 12.2 - 12.4, at about 115mph or so, Unless it's a Mustang Cobra, you're gonna put bus lengths on him. I'm guessing it'll be a Crown Vic or Charger. Neither have any shot at you.

Cool concept though. I wish we had that up here.

you will dominate them no doubt. Every Wed night in Colorado the Colorado State Patrol puts on the test and tune and they run all their cars, motorcycles, etc and race people. They try to be cool and when they get smoked, they turn on their lights/sirens mid track... its a good time and good cause (to try to promote racing at the track) but everyone still races on the highways on the way home too of course.

I went to one of those police car events, and the cop car was running 12.3 at 116 or something like that. Not your average cruiser!

If I went to a local dragstrip and saw a taxpayer funded police car there 2 people would be looking for jobs - the driver and the guy who authorized it.

I couldn't make it.. I needed to get my car in on a small window of down time to have my headers put on.. So Wednesday was the only day that we could do it. I should have some dyno numbers tomorrow though.

Turns out they do this event often so I will run the cops sooner or later.

How and why would you do that? these events are held all over the country so you better get going!

I will have to find out if the Indiana State Patrol ever run their unmarked, blacked out Mustang GTs at the track. It would be fun to smoke one even though it shouldn't be much competition. Some people think the GTs are modded. They look and sound stock to me except for the limo tint.

But then again, most people think my SL is stock, which it is on the outside.
