SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2 quarts low

2 quarts low
My car shows 2 quarts low.
The car is new to me, so I don't know the oil history...there's no oil sticker anywhere.
Do you guys recommend I take it to my local mobil one oil change and have it changed? (brand, weight, etc)
or
Do I need to take it to the Stealership?

I believe 0W40 Mobil 1 is factory fill, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know that I would take it to any regular oil change place. I would either take it to the dealer or to a good indy that specializes im MB cars. Theres also the option of just adding the 2 quarts yourself if you don't want to change the oil just yet. If your car isn't showing signs of burning oil, you may want to check your rear main seal to see if it's leaking (mine is a little bit, but not enough to concern me).

Thanks for answering aluthman.
I think I'll add two quarts of 0-40w of mobile one (somebody tell me if that's the wrong thing to do)..and then keep a close eye on the level.
I checked my garage floor and I don't see any signs of oil dripping. I don't smell or see a black/blue cloud when i first start the car. I'm really worried that my new ride might burn/drip/use oil.
Is there other things I can look for?

Anytime I purchase a pre-owned vehicle, the very first thing I do is change the oil myself. I can't believe you're riding around in a car in which you "don't know the oil history".
That's just crazy to me.

If you are leaking somewhere, odds are it won't show on your garage floor due to all the plastic trays under the car. You'll have to pull these off to check or you can ask the tech if you get your oil changed somewhere.

Thanks everyone.
I'll follow the concensous and make an appointment for an oil change at the stealership.
Can I ask them to check the oil sensor - or is that not part of a normal oil change & cost extra $?
