SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Long Tube Dyno results
So at about 10:30AM we tossed the car on the dyno to see what we gained. Everyone in AZ can attest that it was insanely hot today. I think it peaked at 110 degrees today. At least that what my car showed on the ride home.
Weather for the dyno run was 90 degree (Inside the shop) with 35% humidity, it anyone cares to know. We used 91 octane from good ol' "Circle K" This time of year Arizona switches to what is called a "summer blend". All that means in a nutshell is the gas gets even more crappy.
Results are as followed. I picked up about 46whp and around 40wtq from my MBH Long tube headers. In my eyes that's right in line with what we expected. Without any more delay, here is the dyno chart.

1.. any videos (would love to hear it).
2..Can you tell me what you did with the rest of the exhaust system?
3..I have a pulley (168) and tune, should i expect the same type of gains?
And yes you should expect the same gains if not a bit more with supporting mods. We guarantee a min of 40whp. If they dont make that with our kit, you can receive a full refund upon returning the headers.
EDIT: We installed our cat delete pipes that come with the kit.

Thanks Turk, Thanks Rick. Rick post up some info on that TB when you get it done!
To address some other questions.. If the SL55 make 495hp and say 410 at the wheels ( just about what I make on the dyno) that around 17% driveline loss. However part of me thinks the motor is a bit stronger than 495hp, I've got no prove of that though.
We did watch charge temps via star. I dont think we logged then during a run. I remember seeing 109 degrees in between some runs. Next time im on the dyno I will log them for sure. later than day, on the road, as the temps climbed up to 110 degrees outside. the SC did shut off. So no doubt things got hot.

Great work MR. Hooley.. TB's installing at 9 am
Lov'in my MBH LT's
