Chrysler warranty suspension
Just my luck. I went to buy my Chrysler warranty today and found out they have suspended warranties for Benz's.
I've done the forum search for other warranty companies.
I'd like some type of feedback from our forum members.
Who has no warranty and what model/year is your Benz?
Who has a company other than Chrysler and what are the terms/cost?

looks like there is some controversy surrounding the CSC for MB. Som say it's still available others not....I think it depends now more so than ever on car model, and year, and shape then previously perhaps and if the car has orig mfg warrantly or CPO or not.
Do some diggin in the W211 forums, a few massive threads on there regarding CSC...

I called Fidelity for a quote and they won't cover an SL55. Spoke with Michael Case and they are not writing them now and may not again, he suggested calling Chrysler direct, maxcare 2 year around 3700, I need longer than 2 years. Any ideas?

I spoke with Michael on Saturday. Chrysler has suspended selling warranties for MB's. They may or may not sell them again. He said it may be 2 months before a final discussion is made.

Don't have a warranty. Every other warranty I looked at was either too expensive or did not have the coverage I wanted. I'm going to wait a while and see what Michael does.

Someone told me you can still get the Chrysler warranty direct but he also said you have to take your MB to a Chrysler dealership first to see if they can repair it before taking to MB! No shot I would be comfortable with the Chrysler guys trying to fix my car...

I doubt what you heard is true. They would never take MB's at a Chrysler dealer. The techs are not trained to fix MB's nor do they have the correct Star diagnostic equipment or parts.

I believe it is true. Below is the part of the email sent to me by someone who just purchased the warranty direct from Chrysler:
"Note also, there is one catch to the CSC coverage plan: in most cases, you will have to first take your car to a Chrysler dealer to see if they can repair it. If they can't (which I'm told will be about 99% of the time), they will tell you to take it to an MB dealer for the repairs. This is OK in my case, since the two dealerships are only 2 blocks apart.
Good luck again."
I am not saying the Chrysler guys would necessarily try and fix it but you seem to have to go through the motions. It's kind of like an HMO where you have to see your primary care doctor first before you can go to a specialist.

I have an 03 SL55 with no warranty also.. Just make sure you check previous records before buying one of these cars for the ABC problem and other problems that were reoccurring while it was under warranty. Most of the small stuff that goes on these cars can be fixed by anyone who can change brakes on a car and has internet access to all the DIY on these boards.
