So my Father has a 2011 SL63 in steel gray but those silver side gills with the 63 logo are just ugly.

Is there something out there you can buy to replace them or are people just painting them?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I agree, they really stand out. I would paint them the same color as the car.

theres a company that makes cf versions...do a search on this forum...

I searched all titles for "carbon fiber" and came up with nothing related to the gills.

I think its a forum sponsor called Rezvosport or Revosport or something...they had many threads with cf parts. There's also another cf trim sponsor called DTC Motorsports I believe...they may be able to help...try some searches under those names...

OP, I agree with you at 100%.

Those things look like megacrap.

The 63/65's look so much better with those gills painted in car color,and the logo shaven.

I agree, they need to be painted the color of the car and also the front side marker panel, plus add clear side marker. The other option is to carbon both. The IWC edition has that part.

I like them just fine but the color looks terrible unless your car is silver.

All Mercedes should be silver (ok, *maybe* black, too), so I think the SL should be chromed to match the gills.
