Tire Sizing

Looking to purchase 20x9 for the front and 20x10.5 for the rear. There seems to be some variation in what tires will fit these wheels. Can anyone tell me what the "best/optimal" tire size for these? Can anyone post pics of what different tires would like like on this size wheel?
Thanks,
D-

Close, but it's 245 or 255/30/20 up front, if you want to keep the same rolling diameter.

I have 255/30/20 up front and 305/25/20 on the back wheels. Tires are Michelin and wheels are from RennTech.

Any rubbing issues with the 255 - 305 combination?

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Sounds like 255/30/20 up front and 305/25/20 on the back wheels is the best fit. Anyone else suggest going 19s on the front?

Tires

I also have 255/30 and 305/25 and having no problems. I got it lowered, so I need to have it raised a little bit (1 red dot), on the ****ty roads here in norway. 2 dots when embarking the ferry :-)

How do the tires/wheels look with those sizes? I am not a big fan of the the "stretched" look with some tire sizes

255 and 305 will certainly not give you a stretched look.

On the front, you will have a very 'square' look, neither bulging nor stretching. 255s and 9inch rims pretty much go hand in hand.

On the rear, you may even have a little bulging depending on the brand of tyre.

Perhaps an SL owner with the same specs you are after could post a pic for you..

Cool thanks. Anyone got any tire suggestions? There do not seem to be a whole lot of high performance tires out there which are availble in both 255/30 and 305/25

I'm running the Continental ContiSportContact 3s, in that size. I'm able to cut 1.7x 60' times at the track consistently with them.

I'm running Michelin PS2 on my RennTech wheels. I have 20x9 in front and 20x10.5 in back. Fit fine and look good. I'll get some pics and post here shortly.
