Driving over the concrete parking barrier...first time on the SL65 and I've done it twice on the E55. I parked the car at the gym and I thought to myself I've got another foot...ease up on the break...CRUNCH...splits my CF front spoiler lip.

I had to order another CF front spoiler...I could kick myself in the a@@...I just got the replacement CF lip yesterday...but I feel like I've committed domestic abuse on my ride until I get the new lip installed.

I don't care anymore if the rear of my car sticks out...it's not worth the cost and physical pain I have looking at it...

man that sucks Jon...but think of it this way could have been worse like you getting into an accident and hurting the car or yourself...

even if your car were missing the entire front bumper it would still look amazing bud

Sorry to hear that bro! Yeah I make sure I stop well before that parking barrier cause the last thing I want is to bust a radiator or HE. I don't care if the rear of my car sticks out either. But my problem is that I drive into driveways too fast which resulted in me cracking my front bumper twice.

Do you think your CF front spoiler prevented the lower portion of the bumper from cracking? I have yet to install one because I just don't like how the black CF looks on a silver car. The only way I would install a CF lip is if it was silver CF.

I just curbed my rim on my own driveway today. Lucky for me top down no music on and I heard "CRUNCHHHHH" ...right away I knew, dont know why my right rear view didnt go down, got so dependent..

GRRRR, wasnt that bad but still marked it..we qualify for dumb deed in the SL today!

I was backing my car up yesterday in the driveway, went a hair too far, and barely bumped my brick retaining wall. I barely felt the hit, got out of the car to go look, and almost got sick. The brick instantly wiped the paint off a 1" X 1" spot on my rear bumper. I got out the touch up paint and you really can't tell unless you are looking for it. But i think i will have to get it repainted because i know it's there..

Everyone should stop driving their SL's for a couple of days. Something is going on.

LOL...I'm usually pretty careful...I even was thinking about the concrete barrier even before I turned into the parking spot and I still managed to do a bonehead move.

My wife has walked by the SL over 30 times since it happened and still hasn't noticed anything...I walk by it and it's like I pull a scab everytime...BUT in the bigger picture life could be worse...

Been there done that - I have tro drive around town with the car in the UP position to minimize the daily scrapes - driveways, parking garage at work, etc.

Jon, that sucks! At least it is a easy fix, not cheap but easy.

i've given my S55 a couple of chin rashes (no CF lip, just stock, thank god) because the damn car is a mile long and when it sticks out it *really* sticks out
