New Parts on the way...

In a momentary flash of weakness... I have RT headers, Vossen wheels (with new sneakers) and some clear corners to top it off all on order. I am feeling rather light, but looking forward to some new mods.

Now that's how you start a mod list.

Next up? Larger pulley, ECU tune, and bigger heat exchanger. Then, split I/C circuit, and set of drag radials.

Tis a slippery slope, be careful.

**EDIT**

I see you already have the RENNtech ECU/Pulley. LOL....

Car is at the dealer for the headers... looking forward to picking her up tomorrow sometime (I hope). They say it is like a 5-6hr job. True?

Every bit of 6 hours. I did shorty headers, in a friends driveway, on my W211. You have the same M113 engine as my E500, and it's a pain in the ***. Very tight workspace.

Are they charging you the standard $125.00 per hr, labor rate or by the job?

flat $650 -which is just a bit below $125 hr. Its fine. The headers are so damn expensive that it makes the labor seem reasonable... Plus - I have no lift, no time and no other way to get them done. Oh, and thankfully my dealer supports my Renntech addiction.

Car is not done for the weekend which is a total bummer. I was having them do a couple of small warranty items as well which will push it into next week. So... I guess I will have to wait for my 1st test drive with the headers.

OK - having withdrawal symptons - I was in the left lane doing (well a bit over the speedlimit) in my loaner GLK... SL should be done today - I hope. They were waiting on some parts for some small warranty items... Still not sure on status of wheels - another 2 weeks probably. Oh well - at least when the dealer test drives the car with the new headers they will be burning off the old rubber...

Not today... apparently RennTech is "adjusting" some of the new software for the car and they are supposed to be sending it over to the dealer in the AM...

I think I'm approaching the record, but it's nothing to brag about.

I wish! I'm currently at 2.5 years.. Feb 2011 will be 3 but who's counting??

I should win something for that accomplishment. Perhaps a bag of popcorn??

1st Impression: The car on start up and on idle sounds pretty much like stock. I would say that it might be a little louder, but very hard to discen. However, once you start driving the throttle response is improved and that car has a much throatier growl to it - even with only light to moderate throttle such as in traffic (and that was with the a/c on). I only got a brief highway run, but it feels strong and the sounds at WOT is improved. I am looking forward to hearing it with the top down.

You need the LSD now. Mine did not hook until I did the LSD diff and now the performance is un-believable.

You might have felt rather light from your momentary flash of weakness, but I would imagine it was well worth it!

Like BeltFedBob said, now it's time for an LSD diff and softer tires!

Always worth it!!! Everytime I hit the start button I have a big f-ing smile. The car is just way too much fun and fits my needs for a daily driver just right. Looking forward to the wheels which I think will be done in another couple of weeks. I hate to have to break down and buy tires for the stock wheels, but the rears are looking bald. Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to do the clear corners. Sounds pretty straight forward... Not sure what the next mods will be. When I had my original vision for the car - I have pretty much done all of it. Not bad since I have have not even had the car a year... Some people say LSD others have said Airbox/TB and a few have said the RT Intercooler/Pump/Pulley kit. Any thoughts?
