You dont buy replacable chips, they put their new program in your ECU. There ia also a transmission TCU that can be reprogrammed. Several companies, Renntech, Kleemann, EVO, etc.

Everything you need to know to get 100+ increase out of a 55k is contained within this forum. Most of the serious modders for the 55k motor are on the E55/E63 forum. I suggest you spend some time with the search function. Here are a few good search topics: ECU tune, long tube headers or just headers, 80mm TB (throttle body), SC pulley or just pulley, intercooler pump or IC pump and heat exchanger.

I used the one from Power Chip and loved it. I've modded everything from VW Gti's, Audi S4's and various M3's with other companies having mixed reviews and this company was very easy to work with. If I get another MB I would go with them again.
