SL 63 W/B AMG , S600,C220
WOW that's close..
Had to leave my SL outside for a week whilst away, so decided to run the tank almost dry. When I came back drove of to fill up, about 6 miles, all of a sudden the light on my gauge changed to picture in the centre of my speedo
showing a pump filling the car, also I was unable to get range up. I panicked
and put it in comfort, a place it never sees! Then it started changing gears
wildly
, at last I arrived at the station with sweat running down my face.
It took 76 litres that's around $160. How much is the tank suppose to hold.

Gas over in the UK is crazy high. If I had to pay $160 every fill up I would go back to driving a Lotus Elise.

2005 SL500
I just filled up my SL500 last night and it took about 19.6 US gallons. The little gauge arrow was bumping the bottom of the indicator line. The tank is about 20.1 US gallons. I think petrol is just over 2 pounds a litre on the island so that sounds about right.
I just think of the gas I burn as my "fun money". I don't drink or smoke, so get my kicks via the tall, skinny pedal and an open road.

I'm sure some there would agree. Unfortunately for them, they don't allow guns in that country. Aside from the odd hunting shotgun or small caliber hunting rifle. No 308s there I believe. 
Maybe we could ship them a few AR15's as a present?

My Dad ( the older generation) panics if his petrol goes under half full, if I told him what happened, he'd call me all the names under the sun.

AH! but after the light, when it's desperate, have you seen the picture of your car with a petrol nozzle, god knows how many miles you have then.
