SRS kight and flat tire

Good day everyone. Would the SRS light come on in my SL55 for a driving the car on a flat rear tire?

My wife was driving the car yesterday and on the way home noticed that the SRS light was on. This morning I noticed that the rear passenger tire was completely flat (zero psi) so I wondered if she drove the car flat without even noticing. I am replacing the tire today but the SRS light is still on.

Any ideas?

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
the srs indicates the air bag system was triggered. The only way to get it off is a dealer star machine. Maybe they can figure out why it triggered.

My guess is the flat and SRS light coming on at the same time is just a coincidence.

The original connectors to the seat weight sensor are pretty flimsy and can disconnect, which will cause the SRS light to come on.

Good luck sorting it out!

+1
There is a wiring harness under both seats for SRS. Apparently too much resistance in the wiring trips a sensor. Hopefully yours is just unplugged like John suggests. Apparently the harness under the passenger seat on my SL was worn. I had MB replace it under my after market warranty. you might be able to get additional information with a search for SRS wiring harness.

Good luck

So I took it to my mechanic and he took a look at the codes. He couldn't determine where the issue was coming from as it stated "undefined". He reset the light and I drove it for a day just fine. Yesterday my wife drove it and readjusted the driver seat...the light came back on. Any idea what exactly needs to be replaced to fix this and how to fix it (instructions)?

I don't think it is disconnected as was mentioned above since the light staid off until she moved the seat.

I'd guess that moving the seat stretched the wires which caused the flimsy connectors to separate.

If that's the case it might be possible to move seat back and and reset the SRS light through Star Diagnostics.

The more permanent solution would be to purchase and install the upgraded connectors that MB sells or, if you are a bit more DIY, pick up some connectors at an electronics parts store and install them.

Is there somewhere that I can order this part online? What is the price for this? Is there also any more info on how to install this?

Thank you
