Roof opening problem
One of the small flaps the must fold under the trunk lid in order to open and close the roof is loose and therefore triggers a sensor that prevents it from opening/closing. Mercedes says I have to replace both flaps and the system that goes with it for around $1,000. Does anyone know of an alternative? Thanks!!

They are probably full of **** and it can most likely be fixed with a $65 kit sold by MB. Do a search as this is a common issue and has been discussed before.

I hope you are right. Not sure how to do a search, please suggest a search topic or subject - I tried 'roof problem' but mainly found gear grinding issues.

the part number for the updated version is 230-750-01-11. In your search you can even find the instructions on how to replace it, and there are even pictures. My dealer did it under warranty, so I don't have the search info to help you. It's here, you just have to look.

roof flap not working
My roof flap dips as many of yours has. I understand there are some adjustment papers being sent around. Would someone kindly send them to me? Also, I understand there is an inexpensive part that can be ordered to do it ourselves should the adjustment under the flap not work...would someone also kindly send me the website and part number to order it from? Thanks a lot!!

Just follow the link that was previously posted and order the replacement part. I used it to replace the defective part and my flaps work really well. The adjustment procedure works only if your flaps are too tight against the trunk lid or a small gap between it and the trunk lid, but if the flap is loose and hangs down, then it's best to replace the part.
