Hi, I own a 2004 SL 55. I recently have noticed that the top is opening and closing kind of slow.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be the problem?
Thanks,
Luis

Battery?
I will have to check on that; but it starts ok. I don't know if the top uses the small battery for the accessories.
If that resolves the problem, I'll make sure to post it here

Both of the batteries were not in perfect conditions, but I fully recharged them and I still have the same problem.
Any other suggestions on this issue?

I think you have a pressure problem.
Check the roof hydraulic system in the trunk, bottom left.
Does it press the roof down accordingly once closed?

Jobe, what should I check on the hydraulic system on the trunk?
And yes it finally closes completely

search for leaks or anything unusual around hydraulic system.
is everything tight when roof up / down?
how much longer does it take, in seconds?

I checked the hydraulic system, everything seems to be ok. But in regards with the time of closing, Im afraid to open it again. The trunk needed help in opening so the top could come down to the trunk.
Does the trunk uses the same hydraulic system as the top?
