Overdue! Adrocktt SL65 AMG overhaul update!
Major overdue update to my SL65 AMG!
About a year ago (I know, been busy!) I searched the world over looking for a new set of wheels. I checked all the usual sources (HRE, ADV.1, etc.) for a fitting set and found that DPE was about to produce the SP-SC "Super Concave" series for SL fitment. This was an ideal combo, so I went all out on the set.
Here's the stats:
20"x9" fronts w 255/30/20s
20"x11" rears w 295/25/20s (will fit up to 305s)
Gloss black outer lips and full barrels
Matte black centers
Super Concave fitment with most aggressive offsets.
I want to say a big thank you very very much to Manu and Sean from DPE wheels for helping me along with the new fitment, timely construction/shipping, and fantastic set of wheels. I'm sure they're annoyed that this is the first they are seeing of them (sorry guys), but residency is keeping me busy as hell this year! Over a year of ownership and they look like brand new!

New supporting mods (yes, I got bit by the bug!)
-Lowered with links (Still adjustable w around town, highway, and park only settings)
-Red calipers with white AMG logos
-Blackened outer hardware/front grill/slats/etc.
-SL63 rear trunk spoiler
-3M DiNoc carbon material covered the wood interior
-HID fogs, matching low beams, LED matching running lights, smoked side markers, non-orange turn signals
-new clear bra
-AMG illuminated door sills
-AMG black/silver flat hood ornament
-Fresh set of rotors with Akebono pads (thank GOD less dust on the wheels!)
-Straight piped exhaust (sounds unreal without being offensive!)
-New black custom plates (TX has some damn good looking plate options these days!) *Not on in pics
-K40 radar (had before, but remounted with grille work/etc)
I want to say a big thank you to 89targa (username on Supraforums - a local guy) - who helped me with countless hours of time, putting the whole project together, tools, information, friends/paintwork, you name it. Couldn't do it without you!
Also had a FULL paint correction done (now twice) thanks to our Houston local paint expert George (RZJZA80 is his Supraforums User name). Guy does INCREDIBLE work! Couldn't recommend higher, though good luck getting an appointment these days... Thanks again George for your 15+ hours of work!
I have to say yet another huge thank you to Elliott (Supradedupra SF username) for his help with the images of my new beast! I certainly appreciate and am pretty sure you guys will too

And new wheels/makeover aren't worth much if you can't back it up, right? The SL65 AMG wouldn't be accused of all show, no go from the factory, but I had Jerry and the guys over at Eurocharged (thankfully local to me too) massage the performance. They replaced the intercooler pump, bumped the rev limiter, dyno'd the car, and produced some excellent results (sure to spin the tires at practically any speed). My final big thank you goes out to Jerry and Eurocharged in general. Their Euro-tuner (Which plugs into your OBDII port to swap tune programs whenever you want) is totally badass. Would def use them again!
Car ended up making crank HP of ~630, Crank Tq of 805 ft-lbs!

OK, without further delay or additional wall of text - PICS and Dyno Charts!

DYNO Charts:
I am in love with the outcome. This may be the ultimate daily driver, luxurious, hard top convertible ever made. If you were ever dreaming of a similar set of features, I'd say go for an SL65 AMG NOW NOW NOW. If you can deal with only 2 seats and a small-ish trunk with non-impressive gas mileage (hey, it's a V12TT), I can see no other weakness.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!!

Thank you all so much for the kind words and encouragement! I really appreciate and am enjoying the heck out of the SL! It is right up there with my Supra in fun to drive, with a clear win in luxury/around town capability. What a great platform in general.

What is your project car these days? Where can I see pics? You will LOVE the DPEs! I city drive them around with zero issues and they look entirely like new. Get the whole barrel coated if you have the change (really looks great and holds up well).

That would be an unreal photoshoot! Thanks again for your help in getting the project to this point as well Sean. Just to reiterate, your crazy devil spawn widebody is ridiculously awesome!

I would assume yes. Send an email over to info@DPE-wheels.com and tell them AdrockTT/Adam from MBworld sent you over in asking. They will direct you to the right fitment and dealer. There are a couple of vendors here that could help as well. Oh..and post pics when on if you execute!!

"Car ended up making crank HP of ~630..."
And on their website, they promise 670 HP!
Are you pleased with that..?
