SL55 Tire Size Selection Help

Hi All.

I'm looking at getting a new set of tires for my SL55.

Specifically:
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (K110) Tires

I've got a set of 20 inch rims and am looking to get the correct size.

Things to note:
-I love the look of 20inch wheels but do not want a thin sidewall... Comfort is much more important to me then handling.

I was thinking:

FRONT: ???? Not sure.. maybe 245/35/20
REAR: 285/30/20

Are the hankook decent tires? Is this a good size for the front and rear? Any suggestions on changing the fronts to an alternative size?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Partly depends on what size (width) your wheels are, right? But you didn't say what that is.

Those widths are fine. 245 front is a bit undersized.

You'll want a tire diameter that's close to 26.0 inches. You should be able to get that info from a reseller or manufacturer website.

Good luck with your search.

here's a list of 20 inch tires, I think your size is 26 inches tall as long as the tires 26 it should fit unless it's too wide but anyway you can see what you're looking at here is the list. you can use on the front anything from 25.5 to 26.1 ,,,and on the rear any thing that fits in the wheelwell with out rubbing. Jim

sorry ,,,just turn your head to the Left. LOL.

I think my set up is excellent. Front: 255/30/20, rear: 295/30/20. For the rear, 295/25/20 would be the correct size, but 295/30 fits well, wheel-well looks fuller, and the speedometer correction is still minimal. My SL55 is also lowered.

For my 20s I use 245/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear. These sizes have a thicker sidewall which helps keep the ride comfortable on 20s. Even though they are 1" taller than the stock ride height, they are narrow enough not to rub on lowered cars.
