How low did you go?

For those of you with lowering links what height are you set at (at all 4 corners if possible) in normal ride height mode? I'm about to purchase and install a set but I'm worried I might go too low and then when the car lowers itself at speed I might have an issue.

Any insights would be great!

(I have a 2009 SL63 BTW)

Thanks,
Brian

i bought a set off ebay. they pretty much had them set out of the box. my taste for lowering is super low, so i turned them to lower car more before installing. once installed the car literally almost hit the ground! i raised it back up a little.
just play with it since they are adjustable and come up with what you like. i only ride in my lowest setting on freeway and smooth roads, i hit button once when a bump is coming up.

i had mine slammed and all settings in between and what i found i like best is on my lowest setting (no lights) i have a one finger from the top of the tire and the bottom of my fender. imo when it is tucked and you only see wheel and no tire is what teenagers do. But I also have a cf front splitter i try to avoid scraping so i do still have to raise up the front but im happy at this height, when you have it slammed and turn the wheels while exiting or entering driveways, you can pinch your fenders

What exactly and where are you buying them? I'm considering a similar lowering solution.

lol. i don't make the rules, i think it was after ww2 that people started to lower bikes. i guess it caught on with the car community. since then, lower just looks better. imo.

I'm thinking of buying them from Ghost Motorsports but I haven't decided 100% yet. I'll post up pics and info when I do it.

So is there any chance, assuming I don't completely slam it, that it will lower itself at high speed so low that it would cause an issue...? Assuming the answer is no since so many enthusiastic drivers do this but I'm being extra cautious and I am new to this car and still learning.

Thanks guys!

i read that at 70mph the car automatically goes into the lowest setting. it won't go lower than that.

What's the argument against dropping it w/ Star Diagnostics? I had my 2005 E55 and 2008 E63 lowered that way...

no difference really. one can be done in your own garage, while the other has to be done at the dealers garage.

i like the idea of lowering nice cars but to a certain degree, take a car that originally cost over 100k w a hydrolic suspension and slam it and it just looks stupid and impractical not to mention you will regret it once you see how ****ty the car feels driving, you feel every grain of rice in the pavement, drives like shi*

The SL's ride pretty high stock... IMHO pretty visually unappealing.
