Help : Need Numbers & Measurements on Original SL65AMG Brake Caliper Adapters
Hi All ,
I have done a complete suspension, steering, brake renewal on my R230.
I have learned a few things by doing this myself! ....
At the moment I have done everything except mounting the Front Brake Callipers.
Can someone give me all the numbers & Measurements on the Adapters please .... for SL63AMG with Performance Package (code 030) , or SL65AMG front axel rake calliper Adapters?
I obtained the adapters for SL65AMG Black Series directly from AMG ( through internal connections) , but they did not fit.
Instead of drilling the Knuckle holes I replaced both knuckles. Had I known that all knuckles are they same I would have just drilled the holes larger.
SL 280, 350, 500 = A211 330 3720 , A211 330 3820 ( Smaller holes and thinner bolts for calliper adapter mounting)
SL AMG ( 55 , 63 , 65 ) = A211 330 6720 , A211 330 6820 ( Larger holes and thicker bolts)
Here is picture of the new AMG knuckle with old and new (AMG bolts) ....

Here is my adapters (SL65AMG Black Series) . I need all the numbers on a original SL65AMG adapter. I would also be extremely grateful for someone with a SL65AMG or SL63AMG (performance package) having 390mm front disks to provide me with the measurements as per picture below.
Note: It is for 390mm Disks. The Number 390 for 390mm disks is on the cast of the adapter. With the other numbers I would be able get the adapters from my Local German AMG factory contact.
I am aware that Mercedes only sell the brakes and adapters as a whole package with a single part number ... but with a little inside contact I can get the separately.

The rear was very easy ... Just bolt on ! ... no adapters are needed as all R230 vehicles have the very same rear knuckle .

Before and after suspension , steering , axel , bearing replacements.....
I replaced absolute everything ... including the brake disk shields ....
My motto was to replace all the bolts as well ....

I made step-by-step 3D HD Video of everything .... So I guess I can make pics and DIY posts of each R230 replacement in the future ..... Just don't have the time right now to post DIY's of Shock absorber replacements , suspension parts (control arms , ball joints , etc... ) , brakes ( disks , callipers, pads ...), steering rods , ball joints , .....
This a a small sample of what came out in the front ....

SL65 Front Brakes
Here is a photo of the adapter on a front SL65 caliper for the 390mm rotors...
The numbers are 19.7661.05. The second number is harder to read
56 03 58 or it could be S6 03 5B?
The measurement for the center to center of the holes is 109mm. From one hole out to the hole for the caliper is 74mm.
I have a lot of SL65 spare parts that I have collected for my SL65.
Are you installing Black Series Struts or using SL65 struts?

Thanks ever so much .... This is great info ....
I revised all the struts using original non ABC suspension ....I would need to change the knuckel and all the control arms ,e tc..... for Black Series .... I wash?t game to go down that route ....
Do you have the adapters separately to purchase ? ... for the front calipers ? ... for a SL65AMG ? ...

- I put in a new (privately purchased) panorama glass vario roof.
- The roof came from The tuner "Carlsson" . They made a show car from a SL65AMG
- I liked the black metalic color so much I decided not to paint it ....
Normally I have black 20" Carlsson rims for Summer ..... Those in the pic are the winter set .... ( only If I decide to use the SL on good winter days instead of the W164 )
The reason for the brake mod is just for "looks" primarily ... and naturally the better braking effect as a secondary reason..... The orginal calipers just look too Undersized in the large rims ...

Once again bringing this thread to the surface.
Anybody know the center to center distance of the two thread-holes (that goes to the front wheel hub) in this bracket (19.7661.09) ?
(I hope its 110mm )
Anybody know the thread size of the two holes (that goes to the front wheel hub) in this bracket (19.7661.09) ?
(I hope its M14x1,5 )
I found some other pics of this specific bracket (19.7661.09).
On the opposite side of where the "19.7661.09" number is forged into it, a "390" is forged into it as well stating its for a 390mm disc setup, which is what I am about to install on a CL500 C216 (US CL550).
The only thing I havent being able to find out, is the thread size and the center to center distance of the two thread-holes of this bracket that goes to the front wheel hub.
On my CL500 (US CL550) the mountingpoints on the front hubs have holes for 14mm bolts with a center to center distance of 110mm - like MANY other MB's.
Alex from RacingBrake wont sell me a set of their AD531 bracket that would do the EXACT job for me !!!
If anybody can confirm that this is the figures on a SL63 AMG (R230) front hub as well or at least the figures (M14x1,5 and 110mm) on the 19.7661.09 bracket, that would make my day
BR, Klaus

Hi pleubner
Hi I need your help, which rear caliper and rotor did you use? Can the CLS63 rear caliper plus the SL55 amg (p030) rear floating rotor combo work? I see you have the p030 sl55 amg rear rotor which is 360x32 while the standard rotor should be 330x32...
