SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: What are people using for car ramps?
#2
I would like to know this too. I can't even get it on my lift it's so low in the front. Even if I drive it up on 2x10's..still too low...
I was thinking of using the trailer ramps..you know..the kind you use to drive a trailer on the change one of the tires...? Just not sure I can back up it..it might be too high too...

ive looked at the race ramps but nothing is rated over 3000 lbs. sl55 weights 4200.
granted as long as the rear end is on the ground theres prob not 3000 lbs on the front axle but still would like to find something that is low profile but has a higher weight rating.

As suggested on here somewhere, I bought Rhino Ramps. They could have used a little longer runway, but I got them to work by placing some rubber matting in the front so the nose wouldn't hit. I am actually not sure if they would have hit without it, as I was doing this myself. I got them from Advance, as they have wicked coupon codes, and you can save up to 40% if you spend the right amount.

Rhino Ramps and suspension at highest setting. You can also jack up each side and shove the ramp under. Hockey puck keeps the jack from damaging the lift point and the rockers.

I have 4 rhino ramps that the car goes up on...of course I use an ultra low profile jack I bought to get the car on the ramps.
Forget driving it up and onto the ramps... my car doesn't have enough clearance on highest setting even while trying to drive onto a board first lol![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I did make sure to purchase a low profile jack with the longest and flattest contact area. Some say they are low.. but only the very end of the jack is really low. Try to find something like this..it will work well for ya.
