SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL63 AMG vs Yamaha R1

Most stock bikes above 200km are not very quick to gain more speed (compared to how they get up and go at lower speeds).
Bikes are very aerodynamically dirty. If you have a powerful car you can usually reel them in at high speeds... Of course things like busas, zx14 and the like are tough to catch at any speed...
I think the SL63 is re-mapped, because the R1 is limited at 299 KM/H and the SL keeps on pulling away at the end.
But without doubt. The drivers are crazy, not to say a little bit stupid to play with their lifes or the life of other ones. Imagine a tractor or something like this comes out of a side road. NO chance to react.
We in Germany also like Highspeed Driving 300+ KM/H very much. But only on the Autobahn with no cars coming from the front. And for me only in the early Sunday morning with absolutely no traffic on the street.
still die if someone isn't paying attention, why do we buy these cars if
your not going to break the speed limit.
Any way if this was from the lights the R1 with it's 0-100 of 5 seconds would
leave the SL standing.

Germany says if you think your safe on a Autobahn read about some of the
horrific crashes caused by excessive speed on them.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I also know when you can drive fast and when better not.
Of course a little risk is always there.
I have fun with my car at 340+ KM/H, but this does not mean that I don't use my brain.
But to each its own...

out

Even Sebastian Vettel wouldn't , maybe in his F1 car but not on the autobahn
at 340+
To minimize the risk for a tire blow up, I did a lot of research for special rated tires, which are capable of these speeds with special tire-pressure.
For detailed information I would recommend to get in contact with the tire companies for your specific car.

I have a written approval from Pirelli-Headquarter, that I must not go under 3,5 bar with my specific car at speeds above 186 MPH.
By the way AMG recommends already 3,3 Bar on all tires (Bridgestone,Conti) up to 300 KM/H with AMG-Performance Packagefor German SL65-Cars (written in the filler cap and manual). This is nearly the same.

In the worst case this could lead the cap of the tire to peel away from the main tire construction.
I think there is also a safe margin from the tire makers, but over 186 MPH / 300 KM/H I do everything possible to be on the safe side...

For normal driving 3,5 bar (51psi) in my opinion is too much, because you loose quite a lot of grip at low speeds and the riding also gets significantly stiffer.

If you look you can see it pegs the speedo @299 @13000 rpm, and still has another 1000rpm to redline. Which he then proceeds to use.
So figure 299/13000*14000 = 322kph
At 0:46 sec. the speedo shows 299 KM/H with 13.000 RPM. And then speedo stays at 299 and RPM is still climbing to approx. 13.500 RPM.
Maybe at 13.500 RPM is the Rev Limiter? But I don't think there is too much speed left.
Also we must keep in mind this is not GPS-Data, normally speedo always shows a little more.
But still impressive.

However, if this is SL63 (like the title says) N/A (tuned?) it is really impressive, because the SL65 TwinTurbo (tuned) would be even quite a lot faster up top...
