SL 55 and a GT 3000 vr4 Here's my car: http://home.online.no/~ludvs/index.cfm
Yes, mine has got the v-max limiter raised to 186 miles,(300km\t).
And also got the german TUV papers to approve the 20 inch 305 tires in the back.
Note, that if you get the raised speed you will also need Y rated tires.
It was quite a few of the cars in mobile.de that had the limiter raised back in 2009 when there was 218 sl 55 for sale.
Don't completely delete the v-max because there's not tires that will support the 202 miles it will get to because of the weight of the car... atleast affordable ones.

MBWorld Fanatic!
You can always get a tune and have the speed limiter removed completely. Then you can go over 200mph any time you feel like taking the chance.

150, that’s it
I’ve had four V-12 SL’s. (also a number of SEL’s and GLS’s) At no time was I able to exceed 150 MPH EVER in any of these vehicles. Not 151 or 150 (you get the idea) Approaching 150, it feels like some alien with a big hand grabbed onto my bumper.
Multiple calls to dealers or performance shops. Same story, the cars are capable of reaching speeds in excess of 200. This restriction is a condition of export to anywhere within the US.
Mess with ANY settings, void your warranty. Game, set and match.
Call me a coward but for what I paid for the car, I’m not willing to play games with MB or their dealerships.

So who doesn't want to say they did this at least one time?
When I retire to south FL next year I'm going to find a way to get my SL55 on that tarmac and see if I can beat the previous SL55 record.

Me To
Come on down to Florida, any time. I really wish that I could claim faster top end speeds. Honestly, I can’t.
What is an SL 55? I can only imagine that this is the ‘economy’ model without a full sized engine. A V-8 is only a fraction of a V-12. Do you get gas mileage with the smaller engine?
When you said that your coming to south Florida, are you bragging or complaining?
