Its just finding a good deal on the rims/tires is a big issue for me. I need 19" versus my current 20". Then will sell the front bumper sides, and rear bumper w/ Valance.

I blame you Sean!

Try CCW John the owner is the BEST! & turn around time 4-6 wks for a brand new set of lightweight wheels of your choice (lots of styles to choose from & VERY reasonable vs say HRE's) These 18x13 for example weigh 23-24 lbs ea @ If memory serves $3k-3500.00 total (wheels only)

Thank you. Absolutely love your car! I like the motorsport look of the wheels and wouldn't change them for anything bigger or heavier.

Very nice

So when you have the wide-body out on the road, do you find boy racers in their rice-mobiles wanting to give you a go?

Funny you say that, as most people didn't understand my rationale for going back to lightweight 18"s I fitted them w/fattest rubber to recreate just that, a Function over Form in my case MotorSports application.. I was 1st inspired by the entire look & functionality of the GT series SLR722 race cars. Their wheel/tire setups slightly larger but I got as close as possible in a street friendly hybrid version... 2nd inspiration was the Tumbler in the latest Batman flicks w/Christian Bale.. It's just soo NASTY

The SLR722 GT's get 18x13 RR 18x12 Frnt (Frnt way too wide for streets) it would just create ton of power robbing drag, w/ understeering like a snowplow, on the streets etc..
Isn't the SLR722 GT just flat out gorgeous? I wish they made a street version or an aftermarket kit that looked EXACTLY like this.. I would sell a kidney to buy 1

Thericker the wide front wheel and tire on the front of the SLR is to prevent understeer and give the best front end grip. This would be the same on the street.

The reason why the road cars have narrower front tires is to make sure the car understeers if you go in too hot as this is the best way not to kill yourself, as opposed to spinning and facing on coming traffic.

If you want better handling increase the front tire size and camber to give the best turn in and handling however be ready to balance the back end as it comes around.

Check out the z28 track speck with 305mm square setup. It is posting some very quick lap times.

Yes you are correct, was having a brain fart on that bit lol.. But adding 12" wide fronts would add ton of drag to overall perf on rwd & kill gas mileage etc IE add skinny's upfront to net best 1/4 not Fatty's Straights only understood..

Edit update: Almost forgot this thread was mostly about my new RangeRover lol.. Already ordered the perf 2.5" pulley (only size available from ANY tuner so I bought it from the TOP english tuning co, it's due to be delivered tomorrow w/300 hiflo cats & ALL the fixings to recreate another Elephant Trunk CAI, having Jeremy OE tuning do full Dyno-Tune (if possible 109 race tune too?) either next wk or the wk after..

Just a Caned tune & pulley on 5.0 RR brings hp to 620-640, adding a real CAI is new ground as I couldn't find any quality true CAI mods on these Rovers, so gains to be had are unknown until I build one. All that + the Hiflo's on my Startech exhaust should bring this lil' Angry Rover up to 670+ BHP & 650+ BTQ (I'm under guesstimating, if the CAI adds half as much as it does to my SL, & I can get a 109 tune too? We'll see on the Dyno I guess..

Your car looks outrageous not sure about the 18's but at 13 inches
wide sort of makes you forget the 20's.
I would like to take you up on your offer, but can you tell me, is there a place in the UK that can supply and fit, or maybe send my car to the states.
Have you a rough idea how much to supply and fit.
I would be looking at June time, I will put a post on the forum.
Thanks again S8.

You might? be able to have a shop do it for you where you live in England right? Misha actually foresaw this being an issue, he made a prof install video start to finish actually based off my build. So any reputable shop worth their weight shouldn't have any issues w/install. Plus you have a ton of Pro Baller athletes in England/U.K who luv aftermarket kits on all types of autos & get this type of work done regularly, there must be some great shops in your relative area.. Chk that 1st before even considering such a daunting task as shipping your entire car to the WestCoast for these modifications..

When you figure this end out & find a probable shop LMK & I'll ring Misha up for your Discount He even does full wheel packages included so you have everything you require for such transformation... (you can reuse your current wheels w/spacers but it's not the proper way to complete a build of this stature)

In preparation for the Big Turbo GT30 or GT35 kits, though I've been waiting nearly 2 yrs to see this kit. I sadly believe this will never come to fruition though.. I've modified my wategates further than stock & saw 25-27 psi using Mercedes Techs laptop as we drove her thru all levels of throttle input, & full throttle for 10 seconds showed 27-28 but I can't be certain as anyone w/similar power can attest you run outta room real quick in just 5 seconds, I had to go to a secret spot w/no traffic to get full 10 sec blast..

PS I like your different kit choice Some areas are really cool like the hood & esp the nose, it marries the old R230 style to new R231? forget latest #'s for new models? But it looks really trick how they pulled that off. Some other areas on that kit aren't my fav like fender flair transition to Rocker panel/side skirts... But it still looks really good in most areas front bumper & lip & great to see some different quality kits still being made for the R230 etc

I'm sure it'll look proper once finished What wheels did you end up choosing? Thnx for rerouting thread jacking etc.. I'll go over to your thread for future content..

Thx. For your input. That is why I went with this kit as I was going for a R231 Black series look. It is also a look I have not seen anywhere before so should be quite unique.

What kind of boost could I get using 93 fuel and no custom wastegate. I am upgrading my turbos so I should be increasing air flow quite a bit without the extra boost however I would like to know how far I can go without the custom wastegate. Would you recommend me going down that route?

I have Carlsson 1/10 Ultra lights 20" that I got before I went down the wide body route. They only weigh just over 20lb for 20" which is great however now I am having to run huge spacers to get them to fit which is far from ideal.

I will need to order some custom offset 20" wheels for the new kit, I am not sure what to go with.
