2007 SL65 confused on new rotors ????

I need to replace the rotors on my sl65 and the pricing is around a 1000 bucks each if you DONT have the sport package and like 175 each if you do have the sport package. I know my car didnt have the sport package because it has the 155 limitation correct?

Why the big difference? I could understand the other way around with sport costing more....... but why would mine cost so much more without?

Also all the after market ones I see are not 2 piece like mine, is there really a difference with the 2 piece compared to 1 piece? From what I see I can only get the 2 piece from the dealer at 1100 each.

Thanks!!!

ALL SL65s had TWO Piece 390mm Rotors...

ALL SL65s had TWO Piece 390mm Front Rotors... 2007+ had slightly smaller Calipers (6 Piston vs 8 Piston) then the earlier 2005/06 SL65s...

I think they are looking at parts for SL55/SL600. NOT SL65... But they still have it TOTALLY Backwards... The 030 (Sport )Package on the SL55 has the 390MM TWO PIECE Rotors and 19 inch wheels exactly like the SL65.

I think that there are aftermarket suppliers that will sell just the rotors and bolt kit (not Hats) for much less the the MBZ Stealership...

I think that even Brembo might sell just the rotors which if you are patient you can remove/replace the old rotor bolts...

I actually recently just had all four rotors, and the pads replaced on my 07' SL65. They are two piece front and back for sure, not single piece.

Here are the part numbers you'll need based off of my invoice:

rear
x1 brake pad set 005 420 25 20
x1 brake pad sensor 171 540 06 17
x2 brake disc 230 423 12 12

front
x1 brake pad set 004 420 84 20
x1 brake pad sensor 171 540 06 17
x2 brake disc 230 423 14 12

Well, i don't know if you are doing this job yourself, having the dealership, or an indy shop do it, but it's safe to say be prepared to spend around $5k. Good luck.

There's a MB dealer that I've been going to for parts (about 24-25% off) will give about 760 per front rotor and 810 per rear rotor so that's about $1080 off list price. I can pm you the info if you like.
