Anyone have downpipes PLUS muffler delete?

So I have downpipes and I'm wondering how loud it is with the muffler delete too. My car is loud at cold start, but at warm up you can't hear it at all unless you're on the throttle hard. I might take it Saturday and have them cut the mufflers off? What do you guys think?

The car will bark when you tap on the gas

I removed both sets of cats and the factory resonators (they are straight through design) just do not take away the loud sharp bark at full throttle which is not a nice sound and of course alerts everyone that you are being a hoon. The cats did all the silencing it seems. The car is quiet otherwise, no drone at all. I have installed a silencer (glass pack) in the center where the secondary cats were which took some edge off the bark. I still need to do more but don't know where, perhaps replacing one or both factory cans with glass packs also?

You lost me. The sl65 I have does not have secondary cats from the factory. Primary cats and mufflers only.

I have catless 3" downpipes to straight pipes and it's how the car should have sounded. Not loud at all until you step on it then it's deep and roar like.

How the hell do you NOT make the car sound like a diesel truck? I am so pissed that Mercedes didn't make this engine sound like a Ferrari or Lambo.

So my set up is catless downpipes with high flow muffers. But I have exhaust cutouts on my SL65. Best of both worlds when you want it loud as hell or toned down a bit.

You'll never get that scream like the Ferrari or Lambo v12's because of the turbos. The older Mercedes n/a v12 motors sound amazing, same motor in the Zondas. Just run catless downpipes into the factory piping and cut the mufflers out and be happy. Everyone says my car sounds like a jet.
