SL55 AMG engine oil dipstick issue
I purchased the engine oil dipstick to manually check my oil and for some crazy reason the dipstick gets stuck before sliding in all the way. I don't want to force it in. What is the problem?
Please refer to photo. That is the point when the dipstick can't go in anymore. When I remove it, there's oil on the stick way past the level tip.
The electronic measurement says proper level.
It was just changed by MB also.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I went to a dipstick on my SL55. You have to cut it to the proper length for that car. There should have been instructions in that regard.

Not if your sensor inside the oil sump has failed. You either jack the motor off the mounts so as to remove the sump to get at the sensor OR you buy a dipstick and next time the computer is accessed you block the message.

If your sensor failed wouldn't it be giving you an error all the time?

Why wouldn't you just buy the sensor and replace it. Or if you don't do your own work, have it done. It's easy.

That looks like the transmission dipstick tool with the red handle and the coiled wire body...that one has a plastic piece at the end with markings for 80°C/hot and 25°C/cold or similar. The transmission dipstick for the 722.6 transmission is part #140589152100.
The oil measuring tool (dipstick) is part #120589072100 and looks like a typical spring steel (flat) dipstick but with mm markings all along it. It seems to be universal since you compare the level via the mm markings (not a full or "add one quart" type indication).
You can see the two side by side if you search Amazon for item number B07M6C392B or individually by searching for the above part numbers.
