A beautiful 2003 SL55 was just listed on Bring a Trailer with only 2300 miles on it. And I thought my 2005 had low miles with only 10700.

That's a car almost certainly with issues.

Much worse for our SL55's to "sit" than be driven. I bet there are many thousands of dollars in issues with that car that will manifest themselves within a few thousand miles of additional driving.

MO, stay far away!

I have owned my 06 SL55 for 9 years and have only put a few thousand miles a year on the car. Bought it with 10000, it now has 24000. It sits in a conditioned garage and is not driven for months at a time. I have had no issues with it from lack of use. I keep it on a trickle charger and it is well maintained with all fluid changes. Zero issues from sitting.

This one is a time capsule with 100 miles per year or so. Nice 20 year old car but could possibly have the original tires. Fresh oil change though!

I would imagine someone who is interested in buying a 20yo car with 2,500 miles isn't interested in driving it a ton of miles. Feel like it's 50/50 if you get an ABC light in the first serious drive.

I question the wisdom of purchasing a car with such few miles. Cars really aren’t meant to be driven so little. For example, rubber seals deteriorate from lack of lubrication.

I bought my ,03 SL 55 with 68,000 on it last year. It seems to be very well sorted. Did tranny flush and conductor plate, and oil change. Running great. Only getting 19 mpg though. I wonder why. 🤔

19 MPG is great, it's rated 14/20.

I get 17 mpg -.-
