SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Car shuts and has to be restarted constantly

2011 sl63. Head bolts replaced.

My Indi wants to keep the car for a few days and run it with a fuel sensor attached. Replaced the CPS just to check - no change. Its now with dealer to reflash the entire car to latest/last, as a first step.

One dealer mechanic thought it may be a loose wire/short on the push start/stop button on the transmission stick. It did have trouble starting after we stopped at the lights, no crank, but a few shifts neutral to Park and she got going again. I think it HAS to be the ignition system/key interface module. Each time it shuts down there is a squeak from dash, followed by all the dash lighting up. Still no CEL.
