I have a 2004 SL55, unmodded, unraced, just a nice old man's car. Black with red leather, 65k miles. Really a good-looking old car. Think there is any chance of getting $25K?

That's on the higher end of asking prices right now but the old adage, "something is only worth what someone is willing to pay" rings true.
Upload a few pics, it can't hurt. Also, where are you located?

Pictures soon, location might be a problem as I'm in Wichita Falls, Tx. 200 miles from anywhere.

I mean, 65k miles isn't all that bad, as long as the service records are available, the body is in good condition as well as the interior and the ABC has had a fluid flush/service, then I think $25k might be possible, red leather is quite desirable. What other options, pano roof, parking sensors? Good luck with the sale, I hope you get what you want for the car.

That sounds like a fair price assuming everything works and good maintenace records. Location might be a problem for you.

I hope so. I'm putting my '04 SL55 AMG 48K miles up for sale soon. I'd like to get $25K. There are not many changing hands so it's challenging for me to determine pricing.

I just bought my 2004 SL55 with 66k miles for $24.7k. (Photos attached). I bought the car in Chicago, so that definitely factored into the price. Everything works on the car too.Originally Posted by Abebundance

BUT, when I bought the car, I only found 4 for sale in the whole country at that time. So $25k is not a stretch, but you may need to be willing to meet a buyer somewhere, or have the car delivered to a potential buyer as part of the deal.

I just bought the red one on Bring A Trailer for $25,500, so yes, there is/was at least one person willing to pay in that range. Mine does have fewer miles (28K).
