SL55 Wheels (Rims)
Hi,
I was thinking of changing my 5 spoke 18inch wheels to 19 inch (the one that come with the SL65) and when I called the dealer in the UK they told me i might need some modification done to the body work to get them fitted and i don't feel good about playing around with the body of the car, can someone tell me if the 19inch will fit on my SL55 (03)?
Thanks

im pretty sure they should fit fine. i have seen a ton of SL's on 19' and 20's, doesn't look like any body work was done on them!

19" Wheels
They are talking about rolling the wheel wells. Basically, there is a fold of metal along the inner edge of the wheel wells that might damage the tires. I've seen the device in AMG videos, it hooks to the axel and has a big plastic roller that is used to fold this piece of metal flush against the inner portion of the body panel. If you look on amg-owners-club.org you will find instructions there for what needs to be done.
That having been said, with my new SL55 which will hopefully arrive in Feb or Mar, the dealer confirmed with Germany that the wheel wells did not need to be rolled, so it may depend upon date of production.
In Germany, to pass the TUV, you must have the wheel wells rolled. Of course, one can regularly drive over 150mph in Germany too.
Hope this helps.

I got my set from Ernie's Alloys in FLorida. They charged me roughly the same price as the ones on Ebay.
