ECU or pulley or both, and who??
So after reading the Autocar article on the comparo of the SL600 SL55 and SL65, I'm probably not going to take the SL65 when it comes in, I'll keep my 04 SL55. However a little tweeking might be nice. So far, here are my options:
1. Speedtuning/Oliver ECU: 532hp 550lb/ft $400
2. Powerchip ECU: 512hp 536lb/ft $1995
3. Kleeman Pulley & ECU: 538hp 566lb/ft $3700
4. Renntech Pulley & ECU: 533hp 561 lb/ft $5300
5. Brabbus Pulley & ECU: 540hp 575 lb/ft $15000
I find it interesting that they all come up with different numbers and way different prices. I'm in So. Cal and #2-5 are located in my area and it would be more convenient to skip the mail order. So here is my dilema (the above). What do I do? I'm sure someone out there has done some of these. I'd love to have opinions and testimonials, if there are any. Thanks guys.

Also, will these mods void the warranty?

at all costs I would avoid bergwerks...they dont seem to get much right... and more often than not you end up creating a real good relationship with them as you have to go back 2-3 times to get anything to work as they said.
Go with RENNtech but go to Maridian in West LA or jsut order the parts from Florida and have a local shop install them. You can NEVER go wrong with RENNtech and they are the best tuner I have yet to see. Brabus is a joke with their 18k installed pulley kit. I can't imagine they sell many of those kits. Such a joke!

Speedtuning Rocks!
I've done Oliver/Speedtuning and the results were outstanding!! Sure there is more HP and torque....but I personally don't think it needs any more. The big thing is that there is no speedlimiter!! I've done 202 out in the desert in Nevada!!! The car has also humilliated most everything at the track!!
Have fun and don't spend too much.....those other guys are crooks!!

If you pass on a SL65 based on what you read in a car mag you will be kicking yourself later....
The car is much diffderent than an SL55 or a SL600. It all depends on what you are looking for. Don't expect to drive a stock SL600 off the lot and replicate the numbers you read in the mag. I have driven both back to back, it is not even close....
Tuned may be a different story but we tackled that already.... many a thread ago.

Oliver ECU K&N
I recently sent my ECU to Oliver and I haven't driven the car the recommended 200 to 300 miles to get 100% of the upgrade benefit but everything works great! If the Hp/Torque numbers are right for my car, this is the best value upgrade! K&N's should give you another 5hp per side. I can't see paying 4K to 5K more for similar numbers. I was without my car for 5 days, however there was an Austrian holiday to deal with in the middle of the week. Oliver get's some of his flash files there so if you want your ECU back ASAP make sure your not dealing with the endless holiday's they have there.
