well my birthday is comming up and me and some of my friends are going to Amsterdam and then touring Germany while were there. then on our last day me and my friend want to rent some thing that can hit 200mph so we decided on a SL65 and take it on the autobahn. now what i need to know is who can i rent this beast from and where can i find the law of the autobahn. I dont want to get pulled over by a german cop w 2 19yr olds in a 200k car that cant speak their language that would be some scary stuff.

thanks in avance-Santino

A better idea would be to go to a race track and have someone drive you around a track in Germany at race speed.

The SL65 will not do 200 MPH unless all the limiters are taken off. With the VMAX moved up you will get to 186 MPH.

If you are not experienced in driving these types of speeds I would not reccomend it. Also not many places on the autobahn can accomidate those speeds based on traffic!

Have fun and good luck. 186 is way faster than you think.

Most rental agencies (at least in the U.S.) will only rent to 25 y.o. and up. Some may rent to 21 y.o.

I don't know any that rent to 19 y.o., especially exotic cars.

Good luck!

An even better idea would be to stay in the hash-bar in Amsterdam and live it up completely in the red light district. And for the NFS go to some track-day in your neighbourhood at home.

I think it can be safe to say that there is no way you can rent a derestricted SL65 over here with your (probable) budget, let alone at 19 years old. Fuggedaboudit.

An even "more better idea" is to race on your XBox or computer up to 230mph. People will be alot safer, including you.

You can race at the autobahn around Amsterdam too. I live in Holland, and the cops here don't even bother racing you @ ~ 130mph. First of all they use Volvo T5 2.3L-cars and they're not fast enough, but more importantly: it's their policy to just let you go if you don't pull over after a 10min chase; 'cos they don't wanna endanger other people (duh).
But they do trace the license plate, and you do get a 3000 Euro ticket eventually from whoever you rented that car from; but that's all.

I don't know if you are for real, but if you dont have the right experience; racing over 150mph is going to be the biggest mistake in your life. In that case use a race track with a professional driver, otherwise you might be returning to your momma in a body bag.

Thats the best advise of the thread. I thinks that Clyde really is from amsterdam.

My point exactly!

Video games never get old, but I'd so rate PGR2 over Halo 2. :p
