Dyno Sheet Sl65 Stock

Well today i took my new stock sl65
to the dyno..

there were 2 pulls and the second better pull was
708 ft/lb at 2447 RPM
528 rwhp at 4926 Rpm

Unfortunately the car did not let the RPM's go further since the computer onboard wanted to **** to the 5 th gear.. since the break in period has not been achieved yet

this run was done for baseline purposes
so that i can find out how much more power the KLEEMAN mods will give me

i am thinking of changing wheels
I WILL GET THE SAME DESIGN WHEELS IN THE REAR JUST 20x11 SO THAT I CAN FIT MORE RUBBER (LIKE 315's) SINCE THE CAR IS VERY LOOSE FEELING... WITH THE STOCK 285

When I ran my SL65, the problem in 4th gear was the speed limiter at 155 MPH. Sounds like you had the same problem.

It has nothing to do with the break in of the car, where did you hear that? I would still break in the car before running it on the dyno but that has been a hotly debated topic on these forums. In my opinion it is not the engine but the rest of the drive train components that need the break in.

Run the car in 3rd in the manual mode and you should not have any problems. It is still lockup gear.

My car put down 525 at the RW.

As a side note, go ahead and tell your dealership to order the differential fluid that you are going to need when you get to 1000 miles. The most likely will not have it in stock even though they will think they do.

Oh yea, you will need to go aftermarket to get 20X11 rims for the car, AMG does not make them in that size. I also don't know if an 11" wide rim will work without some modification to the rear fenders.

Enjoy, have fun with that car!

Talking

thanks for the advice and the numbers

i heard it from guys who told othe rguys etc but i think you are right

your info makes most sense (speed limiter 155)

i am also happy that your baseline is 525 which jives with my numbers

Reagarding wheels ....

spoke to wheelexperts.com and they have a gallery of MB's SL 55's that has a bunch of 20x11's done so i feel pretty confident it will be ok

next i am doing KLEEMAN lowering module
as well as KLEEMAN PERFORMANCE (CHip Upgrade)

as you know the car feels insane strong

I know traynor likes renntech better... probably since he has it on right now ( I think)

but kleeman has some brand new numbers for the ecu upgrade giving very stron numbers

i.e. 700 hp 900tq

I have the RENNtech ECUs installed at this point. I should be careful to note that comparing results from Dynapack and Dynojet dynos is not valid; the two systems yield significantly different readings.

My RENNtech SL65 made 542 RWHP and 728 RWTQ SAE on a Dynojet 248 dyno.

I will be interested to hear how your car dyno's on the same dyno with the Kleemann upgrade.

Welcome back Treynor!

My results were on a Dynojet as well.

I just used a Dynojet to dyno an SL65.

I used dyno mode and 3rd gear. It made 522.1hp and 621.4 tq.

I wonder what the difference is ?>??>?

Benzmac - the difference is, my car had a RENNtech ECU, and the one you dyno'd was stock

"chipping" (new ecu or reflashing the current one) could very well give a huge increase in power.

More boost and fuel into the cylinders = good stuff.

you may wish to use a boost valve (www.boostvalve.com) to protect the tubos if you modify it. if they go boom it will be a $$$ problem.

A thicker oil (15w50 or 10w60) would probably help in a modified SL65 as well.

I am confused.

If the stock rating is 738ft-lbs, is that only a 30ft-lb decrease in drivetrain - and peak torque delivered at a low 2447 rpm?
