it will go in the trunk but take most of the room. the 230 had lower comp for it. The 11 230 had a 19"x6.5 inflatable, part was a230 401 27 02
Im pretty sure it would fit these hubs

We are talking about the R231 here. The R230 could fit the inflatable spare but the R231 has electronics in what used to be the tire well.

well thats an inflated tire. the flat would be somewhere in the 23-24" range
the lower compartment has stuff in it, but the normal area has enough room 24 1/2"
Plus I took the safety cover out of my car and that makes alot more usable space and isnt as aggravating

3 MBs Im seeing that is a 17" tire, are you saying that one fits a r231? what tire and wheel is it? What car is it for?

The car in the picture is my R231 SL550 (same trunk as AMG). Pictured is 18" OEM donut spare I took from my c218 CLS550. Size is 155/60-18. It (since its 18") does not fit SL63 (it needs 19"), but spare from C218 CLS63 or W212 E63 (both use a 19" donut) will. The point of the picture was to prove that correct 19" OEM spare wheel/tire does fit (of course it leaves no room for anything else). I think the diameter is about 25.3". It was a little pain to put it in, but IMO having a spare is more important than anything else - yes car comes with run flats , but since I'm using aftermarket 20s", I need a spare for piece of mind.

I have a 63, and Im wondering if they have the same size brakes as a 550, I doubt it. So Im still unsure if it would fit a 63
looks like it says 17 on the tire so I thought it was a 17. Somebody told me a 18 x 6 25et 175 55 18 would fit on a 231. Ive never seen anything about what will fit on a 231.
I assumed the 19 x 6.5 14et for a 230 will. and it is 23 1/3 dia flat
I did find that the same 230 401 27 02 also goes in a cls63, e63
