Newbie with 2017 SL 63

Hi guys. Just thought I would introduce myself to the forum. Picked up a 2017 SL63 about 2 weeks ago. What a blast to drive! The acceleration went from powerful thrust to down right scary with the addition of a Renntech tune. Sadly I will be without her for a few days as the dealer replaces an ABC damper(@17.5k mi), spark plugs and peeling clear coat on the carbon fiber(as seen in the first pic).

looks like a good car with good options. The CF needs to be sanded and re cleared by a body shop, if they are salvageable at all.

7samurai - Congrats and Welcome. Interestingly, I also have a '17 SL63 and she has 19k miles. In the last 6 months she also needed a damper replaced - as well as both horns and 2 O2 sensors. Also, the brake light switch connector was faulty and it caused the Distronic features to shut down. Heads up on any of the above. Fortunately all under Warranty for me. Sharp looking vehicle !! Well done. Steve

Have you checked that you can't fit a bag of golf clubs in an SL63? It looks like there'd be enough room.

Not with the top down. The mechanism keeps it from dropping the roof. I suppose you could disconnect it temporarily.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully I’ll be able to avoid some of those problems. My car wasn’t sold until 2019 so I’m still under warranty. By the way I’m coming from a 2016 GTS with a nonworking horn.

The dealership was kind enough to replace it under warranty. Unfortunately one of the parts is on back order so I have to look at it get uglier every day.

Yea the dealer wont try to fix anything, they will replace it. make sure all the CF is perfect now. It will fade and turn green in the sun. You should get it covered with paint ppf film, it may help it a while

Thanks! Between the black wheels and the ceramic brakes I’m in heaven. No ugly brake dust.

hmmm I can put 1 golf bag full of clubs in mine, (sl63 2017) but have to take the 2 longer clubs out and fit in seperately but the top will go down easily.
