SLK/R170: 20 inch wheels

20 inch wheels
Has anyone heard of putting 20 inch wheels on an slk. I am looking to put 20x9.5 on rear and 20x8.5 on front. I think with the lowest profile tyres i can find it should not be a problem? Any help?

Is anyone actually serious and can offer help. It saves having to order 20's from another state and finding out if they fit the hard way.

Dude, it's probably wise to trade in your SLK and buy the new SLK55 AMG. 20 inch is show only and will probably wreck your suspension in 6 months time. Having a fast car is way better then having a bling car (allshow no go)

... good for you!. I didn't know about a 35 mill winning lotto last year in Australia... hmmm... we --my wife and I-- must have missed that when were were there on vacation huh?.. oh well... What I was surprised to see, is that in comparison to the US, especially California, the costs of living and currency exchange for US dollars there is quite good!... The "millions" in Australia are what I make here on one month's salary, and I don't make much at all in the US, but there... yeah!... I am a king!... lol.. if I sold my house in California I would buy your entire country there... lol...
Like others said... with all the money you've got... it is maybe time to buy new cars maybe???... or fly you and your SLK to Germany and have the wheels of your choice installed...

I wouldn't buy all new luxury cars if rich. Why? Luxury cars were built to own, to become classics, not to be put on lease and traded out of every year. The truly wealthy tend to keep their cars.
I love the vintage Bentley's, and the Royce's, and especially the vintage Benzo's. They don't become vintage by getting out of them every year! Just my humble opinion.

nah see some of you have it all wrong.
all that money can buy all new cars, but the family is very well off anyway and I already had the slk. I just want 20's on it. I am keeping all of the other cars we already had because i dont want to part with any of them.
As for some idiot saying they could make 35 million dollars in one month......well if that is true....why do you drive a c class?
Wh not a bentley GT or a lambo or something......if you like mercs....why dont you have a maybach?
35 million is a lot of money to me and anyone.....but i have a lifetime ahead. Why spend it all on things i dont need. Sure I'll buy a few awesome cars and house and all that.....but I would like to live my life semi normally you fool.

oh and as for lottery.....it ended up being closer to 30. Not sure how the system works there....however here....you can take the whole 35 if you get it in installments over a few years....or you can get 30 or basically a deducted ammount if you want it all up front. A bit dodgy...but i took the latter.
SLK55 is tough.....and will look at it next year but they are not released here til mid next year.
A #4 on my states waiting list for 350, so will decide whether to go for 55 later. Want 20s now though. Wont bother with anything if they dont fit.
