Are you sure those wheels are made for yout SLK? Maybe you need a spacer. Can you tell if it vibrates from the front or the rear?

it feels like its from the back. the spacers, are they plastic that go between the rim and hub? if yes, then i got them, but the guy that sold them to me said i dont need it unless my brakes dont clear.

^^^^^^^^
How would no-spacer cause vibration issues? If someone uses a generic spacer that is not properly aligned, that would cause vibration issues. I dont think not having a spacer would do the same. A spacer more-or-less simply gives you proper clearance of the brake caliper and allows the wheel to be in the center of the wheel well. Right?

It does sound like you just need your tires rebalanced. Take it back to the shop and tell them you plan to drive it fast so they MUST be balanced as best as possible. Maybe the shop had a rookie balancing your set.

If you used the spacers...

Were they generic or a good set like H & R?

EDIT:
Did you say PLASTIC spacers?!

yeah they are plastic, but i dont know if they are the actual spacers, but the guy who sold them to me said to use these if my calipers didnt clear but they did, so i didnt use them. I bought the rims with tires mounted, so im going to a performance shop to have them balance the tires tomorrow.

Ok its Balancing, which has been stated, however just so you guys know spacers help with clearance, IE rubbing-calipers-etc OR offset-you can break an axle with extreme offsets. There is NO WAY a spacer would cause a vibration at speed.

the plastic things he supplied are probably hubcentric rings, which have absolutely nothign to do with caliper clearence. If the wheels are not hubcentric they will vibrate at various speed intervals.

Good point.... Plastic things have NO business in a load bearing role no matter how remote. Its fine to put it as a cap, but as a spacer?
