Is this SLK280 Lease deal good? Need opitions please
hey guys, just came back from a dealer and this is what i negotiated, i was trying to get the $499/mo $4k down deal on SLK280 but they said its impossible cuz u gotta add taxes and its for basic car. the one i wanted was ~$48,900 MSRP.
so here is the deal:
$585/month
$5k down
48 month lease/ 10k miles year
oh and my credit score was not so perfect, ~650 from TransUnion
any thoughts are appreciated

wtf? on mbusa it says, ok yea i know its not always what it says, but still...it says....`27mth lease, now 48? and damn 10k miles shoot...so not enough for me...thats why i own but not lease...maybe i could if i drive a lil less. Well for $100 more every month with all the options u want up to 48k, i guess its ok. me and my friend are tryign to score a deal too...but well i dunno...

warrup fellas... ah friend of mine just got his slk 280 three weeks after i got mine.. he's leasing his and they gave the car to him for $42,600.. all he had to do was put down $5000 and a $660 (39 months)... i thought that it was a good deal considering he traded his c240 and his was upside-down on the car.. but just remember this, U CAN NOT TAKE THE CAR OUT OF THE LOT IF THE DEALER IS AT A LOSS.. that's just my opinion..

but the problem with my buddy was that he still owned money from his C240.. no way ( i know for a fact ) would any dealership take his trade-in and not put what he owns on the vehicle that he is having them order especially..

the good question here is that, are u planning to fix-up the car? would it be a good idea to spend all that money on fixin up the car if u were to lease it?? just how much would u be spending on it then return if after 3 years or so? that really is the BIG question that u should consider..

Be very careful about these leases. I learned my lesson with my last car, in which I went over the mileage allowed by 15,000 miles and had just about everything I could mod, modified (body kit, rims, suspension, intake/header/exhaust, hood, system, shift knob, instrument cluster, pedals). I got screwed when I returned the car.
Make sure 10,000 miles is enough for you. the SLK is a really fun car to drive and you'll probably want to take it everywhere. I have had my SLK350 for 15 months and already I have over 24,000 miles on it. At the pace of 10,000 miles a year vs. my pace of driving, I'd be something like 48,000 miles over the allowed limit. You don't wanna put down the type of money you do for this car and have it sit in your garage because you're over mileage.
Also, you're going to want to mod it. From the Audio20 system which is severely lacking in power and quality, to the wheels which are inadequate, and maybe even the vario-roof remote module you read about. Once you get the car, you'll love it so much and want to do all this cool stuff with it. It's going to hurt you in the end if you mod the car a lot.
All that being said, if this is a 3rd or 4th car and you're not into messing with modifications, a lease may be right for you. To each his own. Good luck with the lease.
