2007 SLK (with pics!)
Hi all,
Got my second new Benz, so this thread is for my pics..
the first set of pics are from the service bay where the Illuminated Door Sills were being installed (previously posted in my SLK questions/tips thread)
the next set of pics are from a drive through Virginia's Skyline Drive, which goes through Shenandoah National Park...

yep, it's been a looooong wait.
I drove a 2005 SLK55 AMG in early 2006, then a 2006 SLK350 in summer 2006, when I placed the order...
... finally got the 2007 SLK on October 25 !

Just got mine too, you waited as long as me....20yrs - damn Honda won't die!
Lots of luck.
2007 SLK 55 AMG: Pewter / Beige, PIII, Xeon, iPod kit, Dual Digital Climate, CD changer, and a whole lot more.

As for your options, that should be "Bi-xenon"... there's an "n" in the middle.. Xeon is the Intel processor..
Question about the dual digital climate.. do you find it useful? Everyone told me it was a waste of money, and I don't feel that anything is missing without it (I can't miss it if I don't have it right?)

It was a poor attempt at a joke...you waited only a little over a half a year....I waited 20yrs to buy my SLK...it took that long to look for at car - i couldn't part with my CRX SI. Actually, I went car shopping in 2003 and finally decided this past summer. When I first saw the R170 I didn't like them...go figure. But when I got a glimpse of the R171 at the 2004 Auto Show in NY I said, "Now that's good design" from there it was waiting for MB to get the kinks out.

20 years? I didn't wait 20 years.. I don't understand what you meant by that... I just ordered it this summer, and got it before Halloween..

Anyway, Dual Digital Climate Controlappears to do exactly the same as the Standard Dual Climate Control module. So is it worth the extra $700, no, is it cool looking, yes. Probably the only advantage is you see the temp with a quick glance down (while you are rocketing down the highway that is).
I didn't originally order DDCC...I called it in after the contract and I got it for nothing along with iPod kit and the Xeon...oops did it again...Bi-Xenon lights.
My sales guy is the best. I even walked away with the CD changer that I didn't order for nothing.
All the best ShahedC,

Here's another pic.
I call this one "Objects in the rear view mirror are closer than they appear".
It's my left mirror, showing another SLK350 approaching from behind on a rainy day.

QUESTION: In the rainy pic.. the SLK350 in the mirror had an AMG badge on its trunk, which I noticed when I let it pass me.
Is this a fake badge, or do people get the AMG badge for getting the AMG option on a 350?

I took these 16 still shots to make a 360-degree view.

Use the slider to view manually, or press the [>>] button to watch it go automatically.
Let me know what you think. I need to use my tripod to get some better shots at the same height.
As soon as I iron out the kinks, I will enable the upload feature, so you guys can do it too... I plan on adding a Flash version to enable zooming features. :-)
Here's an animated GIF version:
