Angry bluetooth cost an added $2,000 slk55 2008
Be advised i just bought a 2008 slk55 with p3 which has the pre wireing for bluetooth. After buying the car i was told in order to connect my cell to the car by bluetooh it will cost an added $2,000, even though i have the prewireing. I hope this news saves someone from what i just went through!

ehhhh... you're jokin'

assuming you have COMMAND and the pre-wire (as stated) all you'll need is the BT module (approx £350 / UK) and a compatible mobile phone (SAP compliant)

How do they reckon this will cost $2k?

Here's some good reading regarding the MB Bluetooth system. I've heard $1500 plus for the parts. Check out this link.

What brakes are on your car...the same 6-piston/4-piston as 2007 or the downgraded ones that AMG has changed to? Are you in the US?

That's ok I checked into the Command Sirius module and they want $1,300 installed for it.

as john/kenzed stated you just need the bluetooth module uhi for europe and mhi for the us.

It costed me way less than 2,000 dollars, that is with additional electronics such as the ipod kit and labour.
