Navigation DVD 2007.1

NAVTEQ released DVD 2007.1 JUL07. For anyone who is planning delivery check your DVD (navigation drive in trunk) to verify it is current and if not request that it be made so. For anyone who has already taken delivery in July check your DVD, more than likely you have 2006.2, and if not current speak with your sales rep and request a goodwill update.

My DVD is 2 years old

Anybody know how to purchase an updated DVD that does not cost an arm and a leg?

The majority of us has the old version, the part number is given, I'll call my dealer's parts today to find out the price.

Called my dealer's parts and they quoted me $200.00, no other discounts, they have one in stock if anyone wants it. They will ship anywhere in the US. I've only used my Nav twice since I got back from ED, so it's not worth it for me. If anyone has the new Nav DVD, let us know how it compares to the previous version.

Here's a eBay guy that normally has a lot of MB items for sale. I purchased a new DVD NAV disc last year from him, version 2006.1 for $175. I haven't seen him list the newest version. For your information, there's always newer information on each release, but you'd be surprise how old the updated information is.

What's funny is that MB has dropped the price of nav DVDs to $199. I got my 2007.1 today. The last one that sold on eBay went for $213.50 plus 9.99 shipping.

I just popped in the 2007.1 and it did an update, so there is additional software in there (it did the same on 2005.1 to 2005.3 but not 2005.3 to 2006.1). There are a lot of new streets near where I live, since it is being heavily developed, other than that it seems to be just more street info, no additional functions. I did notice that when I zoom in/out, there is now a gauge on the bottom of the screen that was not there before.

Also, the new disc is now 3.1 GB as opposed to 2.1 GB for the 2006.1, so theres got to be more stuff in it.

I also noticed that all the restaurants are finally updated by work, so the new version must include a lot of up-to-date info.

It still sucks that you cannot enter an exact street number, and still cannot enter your destination just using the city without the zip code.

Cheers

Edward

^^ thanks for the reply, 1 Gig is a lot more info, sounds like it's a little bit better but still sucks compared to other brands.

It's like any DVD without copy protection. I have heard of many people making a copy. Watch out taking it to the stealer, pop that pirate out of there if you can remember to do so.

I'm glad to see the price is coming down and that more info is being added. Paying $200 is a royal screwing but hey if you want it get it......

Turns out the dvd I was trying to copy will work in my buddy's CLK and S class, but not the E class. So, I think I will wait about 6 months (or about 4 more wrong McDonald's) and buy one from the dealer.

Not sure, but I believe quarterly. They're labeled 2007.1, 2007.2 etc.

Where do I buy a Navigation DVD SLK 280?

Just bought my SLK 280 2008 and the previous owner kept the DVD. Where can I get a recent copy at a fair price?
