SLK/R171: Need to bring 12v cable into armrest.
I have many electrical things inside there so I need to power them while moving.
Hope you can help me.
1) How much current is needed?
This will determine the size of the wire needed. Do not sell yourself short here. Sure, large gauge wire is expensive, but if you plan on charing your cellphone, powering a laptop, coffee grinder, and electric razor all at the same time you will need a heavy gauge wire. Small gauge wire will either cause the wires to melt (and possible cause a fire lol) or your appliances (for the lack of a better word) will fail to function.
2) What will you be powering?
This will determine what "adapters" you will be "plugging" into.
Im thinking you can just hook it like like you would an amp for a stereo. You just need to have a fuse in between the battery and "plug" for safeties sake.
Since you have "a lot" of things you need to plug in, you will definitely want to run its own wire in there.
2) I have a 110 Volt converter 60Watts plus three socket expansion inside the armrest box.
So I can charge 1 phone+1 laptop pc+some other tool
I don't want it visible.
So I don't want any wire go from outside near the comand to inside the central tunnel.
That's why i'm looking for a place where to take the power.
Otherwise I have to unmounth the front of the comand to access the back.
I thought to take some power from the MOST connectors under the passenger feet.
Do you think is an Always On cable set the one showed in the manual?
I need a 12v continuos and a 12v that is supplied only then the car is with the engine runnning or the key in on position.

Do you know where I can get the +12V alwas-on and +12V while key turned in 1 or 2 position?
I need in 4 days since for that date I have to install the sat anti theft system under the foot of passenger
1 Positive alway On - I think any wire coming out of the driver side fusebox in dashboard are always on - get a add-a-fuse-circuit adapter and piggyback onto any of the fuses
1 Positive On when the car is running - I think you're looking for an IGNITION one, and you can either tap it from the cigarette lighter wire OR there is a fuse in the fusebox in engine bay which only gets turned on when car is on, think its the one marked cigarette lighter/accessory. Same thing as the always on wire, use a add-a-fuse-circuit adapter
1 Negative - easiest of all, just run the wire to any grounded metal point.
12v always on = 1 positive always on
+12V while key turned in 1 or 2 position = 1 Positive On when the car is running
