black on black slk

I just ordered my slk for january delivery. I ordered black exterior with black interior. Premium pakage, heated seats, wood trim, and standard transmission. I was just wondering if anyone had one in this color and has some pictures to share. I have the brochure that has a pic but its not very clear. I would like to see some shots in black. Thanks

no pictures but a personal thoughts...

Some articles have attacted the material quality of the SLK to add fuel to this fire - have you looked up at the roof interior, I personally do not like it, most of all because its grey! Whay isn't there a black option!!

I know, I know, who looks at the roof! It just struck me with a dark, black on back interior that darn roof will stand out.

ive thought about that too, all of my mbs had light colored roofs and dark interiors. maybe they do that because if you have a dark interior roof the inside is def going to feel alot smaller

Hi,

I just got back from taking the European Delivery of my Obsidian Black with Black interior with all of the packages except the Sport Package and took some pictures. As soon as I get my brother to down load these digital pictures, I will post them for you. The only thing I don't like about the vehicle is the automatic seat adjustment. It is very difficult to get it just right. The seat back and bottom "work" as one unit. You can't put the seat all the way back without having the seat bottom moving forward. Therefore, driving on the autobahn with people going 80-90 MPH passing my brand new vehicle was very nerve wrecking especially when you can't get the seating position just right.

Autobahn driving

Hey Sinbat, one part of your post made me smile! Nervous with cars doing 80-90mph past you??! In the UK on the motorways thats typical driving speed for at least 30% of motorists (though the limit is 70mph). I am guessing its tougher back home and limits are in your area/typical routes are upto 55mph??!

I am thinking about collecting my SLK, and one thing I have considard, with it being new and wanting to be kind to the engine, just how kind do I have to be?? considering that I will have the oppertunity to stretch its legs on teh Autobahn, I mean unrestricted the car does 170mph+ so is 130, 140 really going to be problem for it??

Also what are the Autobahn rules, whilst on sections I understand there is no stated speed limit can't excessive speed be classed as driving dangerously, and still attract penilty?

Thanks Motzkoman!

Love the car. However, scared to death driving on the autobahn since people were going 90 mph and it is still a brand new car and didn't want to push it too hard. I also got stuck in traffic during the evening rush hour driving from Stuttgart to Munich. It took 3 1/2 hours to get there. But everything else about Germany is fabulous comparing to England (been there during last summer).

I do recomend black, it gives the car an agressive look. But one thing is that you don;t see much of the detail of the car. I was deciding about silver or black, and I realized that the dealership has the car already waxed and it is inside so there is no dirt on it. So if you get black you have to clean it constantly. The new paint they use is called Nano Paint. It has to do something with carbon as a protective shield. More Scratch resistant and paint fading won;t happen at all. I saw the test pictures of the old paint mercedes used to use and the nano paint. All I could say,"Wow, What a big difference". But back to black exterior, it makes the car look agressive and tough, but you can't see the details of the car very much. I suggest not to get black on the SLK 55 AMG and the SLK 350 w/Sports Package because the detail on those cars won;t show very well and you would be wasting your money.
