2000 Honda Accord EX V6
was the s/c s2k comptech.. or a different company... cuz a fully comptech s2k has around 350 hp...and if i'm not mistaken.. the s2k weighs about 400 lbs less than the 32amg... so.. technically the s2k should be the victory....
this would all be correct if the car was a FULLY comptech s2k....just my $.02

Nice car AMG chick. If I ever get out that way maybe we can race, 4 door sedan vs. 2 door convertible. How do they let you race without a roll cage, or does the pop-up top exempt you.

hahahaha that civic movie is hilarious...
i used to own a comptech S2000, grand prix white with red leather, 18" Volk rims, Comptech S/C, HKS Exhaust, full c-west body kit, OEM honda spoiler, and a bunch of other goodies here and there. I ran close to 357 HP... it was a very quick car, and i did beat a C32 and an E430. Very impressive car. I sold it because i wanted a benz, and i didnt want a "ricer" so instead, i bought my CLK320! i know its not as powerful as my S2000, but hey, it turns heads.

The S2000 was your basic S2000 with the 340hp Comptech S/C Kit. The winner (from a roll) was totally dependant on start speed. First race, S2000 won because SLK was at low rpms but too high to downshift. Second race, S2000 wasn't in "VTEC" so it lost. 3rd race, both cars were even as both were in the powerband at the start.
2 cars are very evenly matched.

FYI on the great s2k
First a stock SLk 320 !! can run high 12's Secondly a blown S2k doenst really do a whole lot. It takes a few tenths off. IT add Hp but no torque to speak of. You MAY get close to low 13s with a blown s2k, of course your gonna need a new reenforced driveshaft etc. Also the HP is SO high in the RPM band even the best driver will have a problem because the lack of a fly wheel causes the car to drop like a rock as soon as you let off.
Sorry but a 357hp s2k AINT gonna beat a slk amg with drivers being remotely close.

The only true way to race is from a stop. The S2k had a complete advantage because it cant launch to save its life. Unless you are an accomplished drag racer I cant see you breaking high 13;s in a blown S2k.
They are great track cars dont get me wrong, but on the street......

240hp --> 340hp without changing the rev limit. Tell me how you can add HP without TQ there. Assuming the HP peak is identical, there, TQ will have increased a minimum of 42% at the peak HP mark. I wouldn't call 42% gain in TQ as no torque to speak of. Yes the S2K is fragile. That's why we race from a roll. And umm, S2K's have flywheels. All road cars have flywheel (exception being the McLaren F1, if you consider that a road car). You obviously don't understand what the purpose of the flywheel does.

The SLK32 runs mid 13's 13.5@105.2
The SLK230 runs 15.0@92.3
So The SLK320 might run low 14's
Centrif blowers sux, they do fit in small places like a turbo unit, the root type blower on the SLK32 is much more at home on the drag strip.

Subaru WRX; C32 one day
Those 18" Lorinsers on the SLK couldn't have helped its cause too much. Great videos. If you guys think Civics suck, try driving a WRX with wheels and an exhaust. Every ricer on the street tries to race you. I am looking forward to a C230K Sedan this summer.

Honda S2000
Hey all,
Your going to be seeing alot more of me since my new purchase decision. Anyway. Does it really matter who won the race. The honda will always be the honda. There is no comparison of a car like the SLK AMG to the S2000. The only thing the S2K has over the AMG is its a manual and it revs to 9k. Which btw there is nothing like screaming under a overpass on the eway at 120 with your car at 8500 rpm, ill miss that for sure. Other then that the amg is just a class or two above it.

No there are numerous reasons i chose to go with a SLK AMG. You really want to know the main reason. Customer service. Honda has no clue how to handle the clientel that the S2K brings in. They treat them like civic owners. 36 grand which is what i paid for the s2k is minimal compared to the AMG, but none the less you pay that much you expect to get some sort of decent treatment. Mercedes treats thier customers like everyone single one matters. Honda treats them like "I dont care about you, we just sold 3 civics to make up for if we lose you". Honda is a joke through and through. My experiences have done nothing but show me they have no class and no clue how to deal with people and thier issues. Secondly the AMG is just a classier, more luxurious, more performing car then the S2000. Not to mention to hard top helps considerably. Is that reason enough for ya?

Honda S2000
Thanks
Man I was just reading on some of topics with service issues. **** I dont want to go through that again. lol here goes my honda story.
2500 miles, 5th and 6th gear synchros goe - TSB fix.
3500 miles, clutch goes - Warranty denied "Driver abuse"
so I purchased and fixed on my own.
7000 miles, Rear diff goes - Warranty Denied "Driver abuse"
so I purchased and fixed on my own.
8500 miles, I take the car complaining of the second gear grinding. Am told Its my driving habits. I complained about this all the way back at 2500 miles and was told the same thing.
12000 miles, Second gear goes in the tranny. Warranty Denied "Driver Abuse."
These have been whats went wrong. Now for how the ********s handled it. First issue they originally blamed on driver abuse then fixed after I *****ed. They never told me it was under TSB till months down the road. Clutch they used the tire wear and excess material in the trans to say i abuse it. My argument, ZZ graded tires were no more wore then they should be at those miles, and of course there will be material, ITS A BLOWN CLUTCH. Little to my knowledge that a issue that i also complained about at the first visit was a vibrating noise coming from what sounded like that trans. Well loe and behold there was a TSB out for that such sound and it called for the replacement of the clutch disk for the springs were bad. Then the rear diff goes, no arguing that. Now second gear. The synchro went bad and now is completely gone. The car shifts into second or at least appears too but goes no where. My question. Why didnt they perform the Second gear grind TSB when I complained about it. Because i didnt bring it up. They took horrid advantage of me. Which is why im sueing them. In the mean time, until i feel like forking up 3500 for a new tranny im stuck without second gear. Oh and where is my car now. LOL Honda service, why, because i took it in for a oil change and the check engine soon light was on. They told me it was fault codes for the oil change and it will stop. Comes on two minutes after i leave the dealer. Still no word on what it is. This my friends is why i am leaving Honda and will most likely never goe back to Japanese engineering ever again. Oh and I fought Honda my self. There answer was our District Service reps are gods and we will not over turn his desicion. So too court we go.
